so y'all thought that +150k russians on ukrainian border was a hoax, right? and people still clowning flat-earthers when we have socialists. i mean does it even occurs to yall that most of the time you are just corny contrarians?

you dweebs are the exact reason why this thread is off-topic most of the time. and that "criticizing russia" part is pretty exaggerated, because that's not the reason why yall come to this thread. after russia started dropping missiles on civilians out of warzone many stinkies literally wrote this: "that's probably ukrainians themselves, russia is winning this war, they don't need that" and "if it's actually russians, nato is worse"

I've said multiple times how Putin is an imperialist, a reactionary capitalist dictator and that the invasion is completely unjustified. It doesn't matter tho, if you don't support sending billions worth of weapons into a country that doesn't even keep track of where they end up, or economic sanctions that are hurting the most vulnerable in the countries instituting the sanctions that means you obviously support Putin

No use in arguing with these libs really

nobody needs support from a red rag bum. especially ukrainians

    you completely missed the point

Oppose the aid without using Russian talking points then. But I guess you aren’t smart enough to distinguish between the pro/anti war debate and the pro/anti aid debate.

    1. Ukraine is a strategic threat to Russia by virtue of wanting to join the NATO while sharing a border to Russia. A big part of war is logistics, which is of course easier the closer you are to your enemy. Even rocket defense systems get out of whack when your enemy is much closer. What Russia does to counter this threat is the other question.

    2. 2014 was not an invasion, but a civil war. The only invasion part was the annexation of Crimea, which happened without a fight. Both sides of the civil war having benefactors doesn't change this per se. It was of course also a cold war between Russia and the USA.

    3. I'm not sure which communists you have spoken to, but there isn't any ideological reason that communists would have to support Putin. Opposition to certain aspects of how this war was handled doesn't equate support for Putin's nationalist drivel.

Here we see the NATO expansion talking point, and (and this is a new one to me) saying that Russia's 2014 invasion was not, in fact, an invasion. Don't delete if you're not a b****.

    Nazi Ukrainians talking point

I guess reality is a "Russian talking point" then

    khpg.org/en/1540419843
Members of the neo-Nazi C14 movement, together with the ‘Kyiv Municipal Watch’ civic organization which is led by C14 activist Serhiy Bondar, have carried out another raid, driving Roma citizens out of the area around the Southern Railway Station in Kyiv. The raid does not appear to have been accompanied by shocking images of violence like some five others this year, but that is the only positive difference. What is much more disturbing is that the action appears to have been with the cooperation of the police, and was essentially given glowing coverage on a national television news broadcast.

Okay and the Russian population has in turn been oppressed by Ukraine, in much more sever ways than Tatars have faced, at least now, not during Stalin

And the Crimean Tatars are probably not exactly benefitting from Ukraine cutting off 90% of the Crimean fresh water supply either

Russians in Ukraine are "oppressed" but he doesn't support Russia. Ok.

Why are you talking about Ukrainian Nazis in respect to the Russian invasion of Ukraine? Why is that the time to talk about it?

Because of history. Now answer me why does Russia fear a western military alliance at their borders?

The only time Russia invaded a western country was to save them from themselves in WW2.

The west has invaded Russia three times in the 20th century. Once during WW1, then right after to overthrow the Bolshevik Revolution and then again during WW2. In all of these instances, Eastern European countries were used as allies to invade Russia.

For some reason, an imagined Russian threat to western Europe with no historical precedent at all is enough justification for our governments to ramp up military spending and to commit economic suicide, because supposedly we'd be next if we don't stop them in Ukraine. But if Russia fears a western military alliance closing in on their borders is of course totally irrational despite the fact that the west actually did invade Russia three times.

NATO expansion talking points. He also says that Russia only ever invaded the West to fight Germany, which is hilarious.
