We're definitely past the point for creative deals or even traditional negotiations. Russia has no incentive to negotiate unless it meets their demands..... which is in effect a Ukrainian surrender. Biden hinted a while ago they don't yet have a great negotiating position and Ukraine tells us all the time they won't negotiate unless they gain all the lost ground back (lol).

I know he got blowback for the concessions comment but Kissinger's point on the time window aspect seems correct. He said 2 months ago:

“Negotiations need to begin in the next two months before it creates upheavals and tensions that will not be easily overcome. Ideally, the dividing line should be a return to the status quo ante,”

Well here we are months later and Russia is close to completing the battle in Donbass, Lavrov is confirming Russia is ready to expand the war even more, the nation is comfortably shutting the EU from energy and the IMF just came out and said Russia's economy is doing better than expected

Russians would never accept status quo ante

imagine thinking it's the ukrainian people wanting to resist russia people are talking about and not the bizarreness of a fashion magazine photoshoot of a leader whose country is getting invaded

It's not yoy and it's not all of you but some genuinely will use anything they can, including vogue photoshoots to discredit the Ukrainian effort

Hope their ELLE cover/article gets her visiting the graves of children killed by Zelensky and providing mental health resources to their families

If we're lucky the author will go into how war alters the lives of forgotten Donbas fashion designers (plus some great photographs)
