Looks like both Ukraine and Russia are speeding up the process to charge each other with war crimes. A Russian soldier recently pleaded guilty to killing a civilian. Ain't looking good for the Azov surrenders. Given that "de-nazification" was a major pretense of the invasion, I'm sure Putin will make a spectacle out of that for the people of Russia.

The Azov surrenders are supposed to be exchanged in a prisoner swap, who knows if Russia will keep their word on that

The fighters who don't have Azov ties could possibly be swapped, but for now there are no deals or negotiations going on.

i think what the russian line deciphered is that they dont have major ambitions in scandinavia as they would in the post soviet space

it's compatible with their earlier statement that said 'do what you want just dont park weapons there'

it'll only be an issue for these countries integrating to nato if the military capability to harm russia increases

whereas ukriane joining nato would have been a problem for this reason, and the face it precludes russia gaining control over there

finland and sweden were basically already firmly within the western sphere, it isnt the same problem for russia
