Huge loss for Russia since this was thier main ship in the Black Sea that has all the command staff, defensive systems and advance guided missiles, now all the other ships will be easier targets and they can't get any new ships into the Black Sea since Turkey blocked the Bosporus and Dardanelles
Ukraine supposedly distracted the ship with Turkish Bayraktat drones and then hit it with 2 Neptune missiles, happend at night with very bad weather conditions and the ship was sailing between Odessa and Mykolaiv

Russia now threatening Sweden and Finland with stationing nukes if they join NATO
Seems like they are resorting to the last option since their military is getting embarrassed

What evidence have you gathered that their military is getting embarrassed?
What evidence have you gathered that their military is getting embarrassed?
I ain't saving any evidence to post on KTT2 after 50 days of war, this is just what I think then, but you could find it if u wanted
We know from leaked war plans the war was supposed to last 15 days and Kyiv was to be overtaken after 3 days, it's currently the 50th day and Belarus is seemingly out of the fight and the north has been fully liberated, Russia hasn't advance in the east and south since the 1st couple of days and currently don't have the resources do to do it anyway, no major city has fallen yet, Russia can't advance thru conventional military means so they bomb civilian targets to pressure Ukraine, they lost their navy crown jewel last night, and even they report heavy losses, they can't scare Sweden and Finland with normal army might and now resorted to nuclear threats

If Kyiv was to be overtaken in just 3 days then why didn't they bomb it and go in. Infrastructure in Kyiv is still intact. TV.. internet.. water.. etc. all works as opposed to cities in the East where utilities were actually taken out before they fully went in. You have reporters and politicians moving in and out freely in Kyiv. You can't say that about other areas.
I don't know the Russian plans, but the way they maneuver on the ground doesn't show Kyiv or anything West is a priority right now.

because they did not expect resistance

They did try to do that, there were fights outside of Kyiv until a week ago and the city was reinforced with controls to enter it, Ukraine was likely prioritizing the defence of Kyiv, also the east and south are a lot closer to the Russian border so it's easier to enter there
They held the Hostomel airport near Kyiv and entered thru Belarus as well, they tried blitzkrieg but parts of the military got cut off and they were sitting ducks for the Ukraine army, that's how you got the videos of farmers taking away tanks with tractors, Bucha was outside of Kyiv, and it was also getting bombed early on and people were hiding in metro stations
Classic Russia being the regional bully and thinks eastern Europe is there birth right then wonder why nations want to join NATO

Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby told CNN's Brianna Keilar that "there was an explosion" on the Moskva, but said the United States cannot say at this point if the ship was hit by a missile.
"We're not quite exactly sure what happened here. We do assess that there was an explosion, at least one explosion on this cruiser. A fairly major one at that, that has caused extensive damage to the ship," Kirby said.
"We assess that the ship is able to make its own way, and it is doing that; it's heading more towards, now, we think the east. We think it's probably going to be putting in at Sevastapol for repairs," he added.

I haven't heard any reports of any bombings inside Kyiv.. only the outskirts of the city have been bombed. I don't believe they want to take Kyiv by force, but if they have to... it will be that last city they try to take.

Ok so they don't know what happened they only know they can see it afloat, if it's true I'm sure we could see some satellite images from it, even if it is only broken they are going yo have to tow it to a port and fixing if possible could last months, still is a big blow
But they were sending out Morse code for sinking, and experts have said that if the whole crew is evacuated the ship is done for, also Ukraine reported the attack before Russia did so it wasn't some big mistake on their best ship by accident

How long u been following this war? Literally just Google Kyiv bombings and you have dozens of videos of it
Russia advance to Kyiv in a matter of days and was in artillery range for weeks

Let me clarify. Kyiv hasn't been hit like other cities. The only major coverage out of Kyiv was a shopping mall being hit. Residential and other places have been hit but the city pretty much remains intact and can function.
