This. I spoke to people who actually said 'they look more like us' and for Europeans its 'closer' too. The USA can't use the 'distance' or 'own continent' reason, so for them it's literally only skin color and geopolitics

    Russia been doing this

Chechnya yeah but Syria...it's a bit more complicated than that. Russia's involvement in Syria isn't as simple or really comparable to Ukraine. Assad's government formally requested Russia to be there and the purpose of them being there was essentially intervention against ISIL & al-Nusra. Russia's involvement in Syria helped the government gain back actual land like Aleppo. Any amount of civilian damage, while obviously terrible and to be condemned, by Russia in Syria is completely neglible compared to the mass amount of damage caused by the US & US allies, so if that's the metric you want to use there, the US is far more to blame since not only did the US do that, but is far more responsible for Syrian destabilization than anyone in Russia. That said, I'm not going to pretend Russia went there solely with the intention of helping Assad, obviously they have their own regional interests especially in lieu of regional oil competitors, so yes, they can be blamed just as much for individual benefit as the US, but their actions were far less destabilizing than US/US allies.

They're walking around their base of operations doing Nazi salutes with swatstikas on their walls talking about evil Jews and slaughtering ethnic Russians they call Bolsheviks and Communists and mongols and s***. While being funded by an oligarch.

What are your criteria for being nazis

    Neutralize? What do you mean?

No NATO, no nuclear weapons, securing the republics, "De-Nazify"ing Ukraine

These were some stated aims of Putin pre-invasion.

    1) They aren't joining NATO
    2) Their "NATO compatible bases" were the first ones captured/destroyed
    3) They aren't developing nuclear weapons
    4) The separatist republics are being occupied and in the process of captured
    5) The Azov Battalions biggest stronghold Mariupol has been half captured and partly destroyed

The larger campaign has been disastrous apparently but these core objectives are still in progress. I'm not sure Finland and Sweden and all the NATO polls matter as much as these things to Putin.
