Not that I think they’re agreeing but I don’t think they benefit from “caring” about it in a moral sense outside of escalation

The west loses a big market and China gains one while both sides bleed their economies. China can also formulate strategic plans around the response the West gave russia, since this is a first since the Cold War

I guess but i thought China really cared bout sovereighnty of states + Ukraine and China have good relations

They can indeed learn from this, but the West won't respond in the same way when China takes over Taiwan tbh.

Not many Western countries support Taiwan or see them as independent. The USA would have the biggest problem with it. European countries wouldnt support it, but they won't take a stance like this. This also has to do with Russia invading on many Western countries doorsteps. It's not for nothing they keep mentioning 'war in Europe' and Russia disturbing peace over here

    Makes sense

China is weird. Their governments Marxist but they do a LOT to stay out of trouble on the global stage, to even a fault for global socialism

This is gonna rot the Russian economy from within unless they turn to China

At the end of the day this is a Chinese win, and they’re gonna take advantage of the situation so it doesn’t reverse

Aren't they already turning to China though? A $117.5bn oil and gas deal was just agreed to. Doubt that's enough though. Wonder what other alliances and deals they have planned.

They aren’t Allies but more strategic partners

Russia currently is a market for China and security to the north. They don’t have long term shared goals

I’d say Chinese technology like Huawei is going to slow replace the western way of doing things in Russia. The infrastructure is there but now that the west is pulling out there needs to be growth
