Life after death was not created with the intention of people picking songs they like and slapping them on a playlist.
Yep the streaming albums were highly influential but in mostly a negative way thus the landscape we have now around albums not lasting more than a week.

I disagree that Life After Death is focused. It’s not at all
It was made with the intention of having something for everyone and having a bunch of the songs slapped on different radio playlists. It’s barely different it’s just different evolutions of the same s***

It’s been 10 years so I think putting a new twist on the format is due. This is an innovation of what can be done with streaming
Also the scrutiny on Drake in this moment of his career necessitated an album like Iceman that is more clear and direct in its messaging imo

I reckon what’s different now is that that’s the standard (sadly for album lovers) and not the exception like back then.

MastiffLabels don't want anymore superstars. They want to dilute the value of artists outputs while having maximum control/exploitation of the infrastructure. In the long run they'll have fans creating AI-made albums which will mean the artists themselves don't have much if any leverage. The labels themselves will eventually just have bunch of bots making the AI singles/albums while the artists get paid less than what they do now lol.

This is super insulting. Netflix doesn’t even attempt to make good things. Just background content.
It’s been true for a bit about Drake but this album isn’t made for background music.
