it was sarcasm lol
I know lol I’m just saying the lyrics are nice too on the bangers
pre-release people were hoping for no 21 savage feature but honestly it's one of my favorite songs
I saw somebody say you know Drake to this album seriously because he only put 21 on 1 song and it was just a hook
Hip hop is dead if Drake retires lol. When are we getting the next rap superstar? Gen Z we’re waiting on you lol
Labels don't want anymore superstars. They want to dilute the value of artists outputs while having maximum control/exploitation of the infrastructure. In the long run they'll have fans creating AI-made albums which will mean the artists themselves don't have much if any leverage. The labels themselves will eventually just have bunch of bots making the AI singles/albums while the artists get paid less than what they do now lol.

UNLESS by some miracle artists smarten up and train their fans to stop using streaming services and own s*** again.

I have a playlist with all 3 albums i capped at 20 songs and i sequenced them how i’d sequence an album it’s fun to do
You should post it, I’m working on one based on take care, sfg and views as inspiration
It's just more easily digestable and less exhausting to listen to 3 projects with around 2.5h overall instead of one 1.5 album.
CLB as an example is an amazing album but I usually listen to it trimmed down.
I think for me, more than that it helps seperate when Drake’s being serious from when he’s having fun and when he’s showing a lot of emotion. I feel like a lot of people were getting confused by albums like FATD and CLB because of the different tones. I always thought it made the albums fun and dynamic but it’s why people were saying he needed to grow up or whatever. When you have a lot of that stuff on its own project it feels more obvious that it’s intentional and a different vibe

I don't think it was ever a problem for me...like you wrote it makes for a more dynamic listening experience instead of a one tone sound.
But this 3 way drop gives us both the dynamic listening experience and the more cohesive album experience at the same time.
I probably wouldn't enjoy Iceman as much if the other albums weren't released as I would have missed RnB and Party Drake
That dude that went viral reacting to Shabang is so f***ing annoying man
Best to stay away from any type of app that lets you know about things like this

Since More Life Drake has been releasing music with the intention of creating playlists, but he gets flack for it from the Pitch 4ks , Fantanos and artsy critics of the world who havent adapted to streamlined projects.

I have a thread where i shared my track list but i think im going to make a version with some edits to make transitions between songs smoother and post it on here later

I hated on the “playlist” tag Drake put on it because at the time and still now people were releasing promoting albums but calling it a mixtape to soften any lack of sales blow but more life definitely is sequenced and has the variety of a mixtape
F*** you p**** but shout out yo neighborhood arrghh 👺

I mean that’s objectively a bad way to release albums
Making the 3 projects is so genius, I think it makes it more digestible. I wonder if that one comment someone made to Drake about wanting more raps than songs for the ladies a few months back had an influence
Still as a fan of all styles I’m experimenting with some playlist ts, one is playing the album with the tracklist of the live stream. The tracklist is the same except when it gets to Little Birdie it goes:
Little Birdie
High Fives
Slap the City
Gen 5
Don’t Worry
Make Them Know
So the 3 Habibti songs were part of the sequence and Firm Friends wasn’t. I don’t know if that means they were part of Iceman once or if it was always a preview but I think I might like the sequence tbh.
I’ve been thinking of doing something like this
I’m really interested in if 3 separate projects was always his intention or did it evolve over time. A 20-22ish track album with the best of Habibti and MOH would’ve been crazy
I mean that’s objectively a bad way to release albums
No it’s not. Subjectively I enjoy projects like Life After Death more than Illmatic. I prefer expansive ambitious projects over the shorter concise ones. And Drake’s approach to streaming era albums was highly influential, and reflects the form of the “album” changing with the times and technology, as well as the growth of hip hop. Views and More Life are landmarks in this sense. This 3 pack release is just yet another evolution

This is a great solution to his streaming bloat album problem.
This caters to the stream playlist crew and the album loving crew

Life after death is a long album that is also a fantastic focused project a very different thing than more life or views
Life after death was not created with the intention of people picking songs they like and slapping them on a playlist.
Yep the streaming albums were highly influential but in mostly a negative way thus the landscape we have now around albums not lasting more than a week.
