The fake neutrals are here to discuss Drake’s fictional downfall

  • shaleirose

Also, the average person among the GP isn't thinking about "oh I don't miss Drake enough right now"

If the song is a hit, they're gonna play it no matter what

Yeah I never played into the “make them miss you” s***

    If it’s a good song, It’s a good song

  • JPG

Summer 25 people still didn’t miss drake yet. simple as that. it took a year of this new “era” to marinate and see how hip hop has failed to succeed commercially or culturally this year for people to realize who and what was missing. it’s why for the past 3 weeks you have seen media people switching course and fans aswell

see how hip hop has failed to succeed commercially or culturally this year for people to realize who and what was missing.

Also, to respond to this point. Do people already forget that hip-hop was already on the decline commercially during the first half of 2023? While Drake was extremely active and promoting a brand new album after just dropping two?

You wouldn’t count the songs he premiered on his “Iceman” streams as part of the album “Iceman”?

Even if What Did I Miss went #1 it clearly didn’t have any staying power

ig likes do not equal album sales

social media interaction for album announcements do not correlate to streaming success? I must have missed this new a&r research a***yst update. My bad.

fake neutrals is a hilarious term but so true

  • Yung Angel

The same fake neutrals (credit to @Blue_Man for coining that term) come here daily to push their salty ass opinions lol

you just gotta call out their bs and they'll resort to the same kbot narratives. when no one takes them seriously still, they just start crying that drake fans don't wanna criticize drake

Nobody said that man come on

But 2025 was an historically weak year for the Hot 100, and he couldn't get a single song to reach #1. That's not a nothingburger

I think with all factors included, It'll be about even, Assuming Iceman does around 450k (give or take some)

GNX was a surprise release that only has 12 tracks and no fw physicals. It did crazy physical number preorders that would’ve put in the 450k - 500k range if they counted

Iceman is most likely gonna have double the tracks and no physicals. Drake fans don’t really buy physicals anyway

    Seems pretty even imo

what kind of fugaze math is this? 450k is very different from 319k. have some shame man

you don’t get it… the song he dropped a day late that was still going to go 1 got blocked by some astroturfed pop “star” carried by radio payola

drake is washed and irrelevant to the average listener.

I truly do not care. What did i miss is a banger and still getting spins. Hope he comes with that type of energy. It got #2 and blocked by a radio monster dogshit song called Ordinary lol. I hear which one every once in awhile too, with a central cee feature. Good fun songs. You talk about numbers way too much. Just enjoy the music.

I wonder if “letting the party die” and then replacing it with no real feature run or cultural replacement had anything to do with the mainstream failure of rap in 2025

    just a thought

It's not just that it didn't go #1, it's also that it departed from the Hot 100 completely relatively quickly

I do enjoy the music. I like that song. But we're talking about the numbers right now
