Yeah those two things happening sucked. But I think Family Matters would have been enough for people to forget those missteps. The same way people forgot about the fake daughter and the embassy getting raided.

Same dude, I was in 7th grade when this album came out, didn’t know s*** about music but knew I liked some of drakes songs, so I remember asking my mom if I could buy his new album on my iPod and remember listening to this everyday on the way to school that year.
Than I stopped caring about music and missed everything and everyone in between
But I’m glad I have that Take Care story and glad I came back around to The Boy

I think Drake didn’t expect him to use bot play, beat him in the marketing department and have pre written diss tracks . I think Drake thought initially he wasn’t even gonna reply cause he does that throw a shot then go back into his cocoon s*** a lot and then Drake seemed to think it’d be typical quintuple entendres and Pulitzer wordplay lmao. He prob didn’t expect the nigga to triple down on some hoe s*** and keep throwing peodfile on his jacket and then use bots, media, and “uniting an entire coast” to propagate that narrative
I don't know if I would give drake that much grace, dude is a veteran, okay lets say early on he didn't really know how kendrick was gonna play it. But after he dropped euphoria and 6:16, he should have known kendrick was not going to back down, and should have also known he was going to drop something vicious as a reply because Family matters had wife beating allegations. I think when you are taking it that far it shoulda be a given to be ready to respond

Yeah it's weird because that's one of those songs I only really listen to when I'm by myself. Just so many different memories with that song and the emotions attached to those memories are all different.
The memories with that song remind me so much of this Drake bar, "Some nights I wish I could go back in life Not to change s***, just to feel a couple things twice"
