THE BOY DOESN'T MAKE ALBUMS... HE MAKES MOMENTS
THE BOY DOESN'T MAKE ALBUMS... HE MAKES MOMENTS
He creates both imo.
Any time he drops is always a big moment.
And they are often very good body of works, that usually ages very well. Which there is proof of. By numbers and facts.

Drake - Will have the best streaming year of his career even if he doesn’t drop his album (in a discography that allegedly has zero classics according to Club Mustard)
Yeah, because streaming is more popular than ever right now. Rocky had his biggest streaming year ever in 2025 and hadn’t dropped an album in 7 years

What is your take on so few hip-hop artists and rappers charting?
Why hip-hop media and industry seems to be struggling?
Because mainstream hip-hop stalled creatively in like 2019, as simple as that
Y’all forget that in 2023 hip-hop was experiencing a major dry spell on the charts until Doja dropped Paint the Town Red, and that was after Drake had dropped two albums and was actively promoting another one
This dry period for mainstream hip-hop did not start post-beef, this has been slowly brewing since the decade kicked off

They never have an actual answer when presented with facts
Like I specifically remember "government mandated features" being a thing. Albums from artists that always have the same exact kinda features and producers. Then you had people talking about "microwave" albums. Then you got the deluxe/bundle tricks for streams and sales. People complaining that the popular mainstream rappers been releasing the same exact bloated kinda album every year...sometimes twice a year.
These are all things people have been talking about for much of the 2020s so far. And some of y'all are confused and genuinely asking why hip-hop hasn't been doing well lately...
I don't know man, it sounds like people are tired of the same ol s*** mainstream/commercial rap. With all that crap going on, it was already gonna be falling off with or without any beef.

It is still an own-goal to try to devalue the biggest artist that brings the most attention to the genre and directly/indirectly to other artists as well.
By songs charting, features and general talk from different forms of media.
Labels now dropping artists or stop supporting them with proper budgets and marketing. How are they gonna go to Drake and ask for a feature in the future? The same labels and industry that tried to get rid off him?
Most of these artists dont have huge followings or can sell a lot of tickets either.
There seems to be a lack of talent as well.
A lot of people just seem clueless on whats next and everyone waiting on Drake.
da funniest s*** is when niggas act like sales dont matter or dictate good art lmfaooooooooooooooooooooo
Of course it matters lol. A nigga saying it doesn’t is delusional.
But some of y’all sound way over obsessed with popularity and who getting played the most outside like rap is just some other grind and that’s it. That’s all niggas talk about. What Drake has been able to do musically and commercially in his career is undeniable and won’t be topped for a long time and he’s not dominating the charts. It was a rap battle lol. Good music is good music. But I’m just as impressed by what kendrick has been able to do musically and commercially too in the lane that he’s in talking about the things he talks about. Songs like Sing About Me. On a level commercially that Nas was never able to reach.

It seems to be an insecurity thing with being annoyed about what other people find "popular" though.
As far as I know, Drake and majority of fans... never looked down on some like Kendrick for his music or his artistry.
The hate started way back and goes deeper. It is personal from within, rather than anything creative or about music. It more jealousy and being annoyed about people liking something.

a fundamental hatred that drake could be a global artist who did hip hop at a high level as well as pop and r&b etc..... kendrick had introspective music at the societal level and drake had it at the personal level. fundamentally different at their core which affected the ceiling of both artists

Thats not a bad take or observation.

Waiting on Drake, an artist who is notorious for most if not all the of the things I mentioned, to determine what's next is just setting yourself up for disappointment.

Thats your subjective opinion and it doesnt make much sense.
I was only asking about whats next. Hip-hop is in a bad place and it isnt because of the guy they tried to get rid off.

Does Drake not use most of the same features on his album?
Has Drake not employed bundle/deluxe tricks in order to get more streams up on his releases?
Has Drake not been releasing bloated ass albums to further manipulate/boost streams?
Has Drake not been making the same f***ing album since Scorpion?
