I’m wondering why music is always treated differently than other forms of art. You hear about movies dropping a year in advance. You don’t get a trailer until 6 month in advance. Then the movie drops & everybody goes to see it. For some reason if you hear about an album, it’s supposed to drop the next week or all momentum is lost.

I think because music is different then movies.

If Christopher Nolan said his movie was coming in 2026 and then gave no other info for months people wouldn’t be happy.

I don’t know about yall but I’m just happy he’s not on tour . I don't care about the hype. It’s Drake the hype will come with time. Just focus on making music

How are they different & when did Drake provide us with a date then go ghost for months?

We’re at the normal cadence between episodes & all Drake said was that he was working on an album. The rest of the speculation came from fans.

He never gave a date. He gave a year. Then nothing.

So you have no insight as to why movies & music are different? Also, can you show me where he told us it was coming this year? I’m wondering if I missed that.

Here’s the album announcement. No mention of a day, month or year. Just “when the time is right”.

Always assumed that was just an autograph. A lot of celebrities sign with the year. I never took this as confirmation we’re getting it in ‘25. It would make sense, but Drake does a lot of things that don’t make sense.

To piggy back on this, regurgitating the same talking points about how you think the release is going seems like the biggest waste of time. Nobody who matters is going to see it. It’s not changing.

Well music and movies are vastly different art forms. You need me to explain why?

And I agree with you I wish music artists treated their albums like films as they used to. Set a date. Stick to it. Drop a “trailer” single. Ect.

I’m not asking about the actual art form. I’m wondering why the releases are treated differently.

Directors & studios do not always stick to dates & they also don’t give a bunch of information. All in all, it never matters because people are still going to see the movie.

To act like people aren’t going to listen to the album because they’ve had to wait is strange to me.

Everyone is gonna listen to this at least once. Tons of info about movies comes out beforehand. Do you like movies?

I mean I don’t think a drake album called iceman will ever release.

We’re arguing two different things. I’m wondering why when something about the release of movie changes i.e. director change, rewrites & casting changes, it’s not met with the same criticism as albums.

Facts they want him silent then when he does that it’s what is he doing? I’m convinced folks just want to dictate his career

The Batman 2 comes to mind for me. First one came out in ‘22, sequel was supposed to be out this week & now it’s not coming out until October ‘27. It just kind of is what it is.

But if an album gets pushed, by any artist, there’s always an outrage or clowning of the artist. Just thought it was interesting.
