I still think it's a good movie, but I'd have difficulty recommending A Clockwork Orange to any women I know because of those rape scenes
I'm sure there's worse/more graphic scenes out there, but that's the first movie that came to mind
the hoes not tryna watch Kubrick anyway
“The production was also affected by the numerous injuries and deaths of several indigenous extras who were hired to work on the film as laborers, and two small plane crashes that occurred during the film's production which resulted in a number of injuries, including one case of paralysis… relations deteriorated when Herzog began the construction of a village on Aguaruna land. He allegedly failed to consult the tribal council and attempted to obtain protection from the local militia when the tribe turned violent. Aguaruna men burned down the film set in December 1979, reportedly careful to avoid casualties.”

The trivia for this movie is all-round bonkers.
You have a cinematographer who accidentally has his hand slashed open, so he has to get surgery with no anesthesia, and the whole time, he's screaming and thrashing while a hooker tries to calm him down by sandwiching his head with her titties
media literacy in shambles... this topic, across the arts, for better and worse, has always been the most potent for exposing distinctions in how ppl engage their content

A trans friend of mine wrote a great piece that was actually published in defense of Dressed to Kill and they don’t think it’s problematic, so I’ll go with them when it comes to that subject over you.

Yeah its almost like it’s an 80’s exploitation movie and as an adult you should be able to adjust to the sensibilities of the material rather than cringing like an embarrassed kid looking around.

Almost forgot how much of an homunculus you turn into when this topic comes up
It’s adorable to see people who buy into death of the author and the argument that all interpretations of art are valid—then make the case that a work of art can be inherently problematic.

Lol. Indulge us, Elric, what's the reason
