You ain’t have to do damage control for big daddy Nintendo all the time bruh

Lol its ALWAYS this reply when people got no arguments against my posts.
Please post a valid reasons for the crashouts itt for a game widely available to freely emulate on decades old phones.
Im just saying its sad people popping a vein over something so innocuous and lacking in any importance whatsoever, i cant be the only one that sees it come on.
Like im 100% sure people don't even care THAT much about these games, they just looking at reasons to get mad, especially when this pricing strategy hasnt been new or unheard of in 2 decades. Its like getting mad at every showcase ever not having dozens of games tailor made for your tastes, you're literally wasting energy, but maybe im not online enough to understand

This is literally me with Embark Studios.
I will defend them against any detractors till I die

  • In general gamers get mad at the dumbest s***, its the only media fanbase like this, music fans somehow are more logical generally

I'm on the frontlines of being a gen 1 hater, but $20 is such a non-issue man.

Hell the game not having online is even more of a reason not to spend the money on them if you're not really that interested. The roms for these games are so easy to find and gba emulators run on anything. Get mad at bluepoint closure or nintendo's treatment of contract workers or something, far more useful use of your energy if you really want to get mad at someone.
I swear people act like you have to buy every new game lol

  • When i think a game (even one im interested in) costs too much i either wait on a sale or if it don't get one i'll try get it used and if that doesnt work either i'll just play something else. Theres too many games old and new to discover, i already know i'll never be able to play every game im interested in so its not a big deal

I'm with you man. Just saw this and it's quite literally exactly what you're saying lol.

Should it be cheaper? Yeah, probably. Should it have online? It would be cool, but there is no world where Nintendo is gonna go back and add that functionality. Really at the end of the day, the average consumer is going to think "oh sweet, I love FRLG, now I can play it on my Switch!" and buy it. It's such an "online" thing to be up in arms about this lmao. S***, one of my friends who hasn't played Pokemon in probably 20 years at this point, was saying how excited he was to play it on his Switch lol.

Goddam this is written so well.

The level of outrage toward Nintendo is so ungodly disproportionate with things that are severely worse.

You'd think firered costing $20 is a bigger scandal than the Epstein files or American built concentration camps.

And no, I'm not even buying this s*** anyways.

  • you walk outside the house nowadays you spend $20 without even realizing go ahead and buy that pokeman

  • FireRed day 1 cop 🔥

  • Nintendo called our bluff and now MFs mad as s***

This is why Nintendo discussion on the internet is so confusing to me. How is such trivial news being compared to industry shattering news. Im aware this particular post is in jest but too many times these are actual real opinions floating around

Agreed. This $20 Pokémon s*** is a non issue IMO. I fully agree $20 is such a damn ripoff. Should have been $15 at most. But l love these games so damn much and it’s 100% worth it FOR ME. So I’m buying day 1. But if anyone else thinks it’s a ripoff. Cool, then don’t buy it. It’s really that simple. S*** I think is a ripoff, I don’t buy it or wait for it to go on sale lol

The FRLG re-release is so incredibly f***ing annoying I can't lie.

Nintendo should have had these games available the moment the E-Shop became a thing. All the way up to black and white 2 at the very least.

I love Pokemon but the way they do the bare minimum for everything and ask for the most has to stop.

Nintendo got the brokest fans for some reason

The people complaining the most usually aren't fans, dont own the consoles, or haven't touched a pokemon game in 10+ years (gen 5 was 16 years ago for reference)

$20 is nothing for video games, or really anything. But it's not about a Jackson, its just the next outrage cycle. I can't take any of this seriously for how crazy the internet has s*** itself over something begged for for years. The discourse around the leaks was the exact opposite 2 days ago before it was confirmed.

Im not buying it, I don't have any interest in this, but the fact the people who've wanted it for so long now have this option is a good thing. Nobody took away anyone's ability to emulate it like I'll continue doing.

  • As someone who's gonna buy this, frlg on switch is a bad deal and bad value for what you're getting. These games can be emulated on any device with a screen in 2026, with trade evos patched and a fast forward button. If it had online it would be a different story.

They are not going to fix the glitch that the roaming legendary dogs disappear forever when they use Roar in battle
