Wait so the games don't even have exclusives cuz you can the get other versions as paradox mons, but they're just normal, the paradox mon is just a boss battle
that makes my decision a lot easier
I'd imagine I'm pretty close to finishing the game at this point. Hasn't been too bad. Some things have been nice, but others have been just not good at all. Feeling like it's a 6/10 atm.
Playing let's go now. Just got a switch. Really brings back the nostalgic vibes.
Is everyone liking the new one though? I'm on the fence about getting.
From the reviews and opinions I've seen, Scarlet & Violet are overall fun but performance is shaky and graphically it looks like poop.
Been playing violet since the weekend and tbh this s*** some suck. I beat the first gym and have done some of the other immediate missions you can do and I just have no desire to keep going
2 hours deep into scarlet, gotta say I appreciate the verity of Pokémon’s you find at the start you get plenty of options for your start up team on the other hand the performance is not good I really hope there’s a patch tomorrow or something

You playing handheld or docked?
Ok yeah, just finished it up. Started out pretty enjoyable, but I lost steam on it pretty fast. The only somewhat interesting part of the "story" is shoved in at the end and you get zero time to get anything out of it. All fights folded pretty much immediately with minimal training/exploring, especially the E4+ champ
Overall, prob a 5/10 from me.
These games deserve the widespread amount of backlash and criticism the remastered GTA Trilogy got

Can’t you just rush through the gym leader storyline first when you’re low level if you want more challenge, then do the other 2 storylines after. Or vice versa for those who want it to be breezy? Just seems like this is the first game that won’t have that problem, since it’s up to you.

I did the three different storylines fairly evenly. I did skip a gym or two on accident going "out of order", so I was overleveled on those and would makes sense that those fights would be easy. For the most part, I was on level with the bigger fights.
I'm not sure if you can only just focus on a single storyline (the gyms in this case), since I think you may need the upgrades for the box legendary to get to some places; if anything, makes it a hell of a lot easier to get around. Though if you end up focusing on a single one, the other storylines will be a joke. The Team Star route has the equivalent of gym leader battles and the Titan route has some "strong" fights with single Pokemon. I'd say it's in most people's best interest to do them all evenly, so that way you're not grossly overleveled for two entire storylines (despite them being incredibly short lol).
Regardless, the fights with the gym leaders are easy as hell. I don't think any of them used items, so it's not like you're in any danger getting them to red HP or getting status effects and having them heal back up (from what I could tell, this also extends into the E4 and the champion).
To be fair, I did have some threats on my team lol. Like I said in a previous post, I soloed most of the gym leaders, E4, and champ with a single Pokemon without putting much effort into training or exploring. I know it's a kids' game so story difficulty really doesn't matter at the end of the day, but this game was DUMB easy.
I'm pretty sure the Elite 4's teams were at level 65 or so. I think the FINAL fight of the story also has a team of level 65-68 (?) Pokemon, so you don't even really need to level your Pokemon for that fight either. It's a shame because the last area is actually kinda cool, but nothing in there is even remotely challenging. You could easily just skip all the encounters post-champ and do the final fight with no issues.

interesting
thanks for the heads up
Maybe I’ll try a nuzlocke type thing where I don’t use any items and put my Pokémon in the pc when they faint like they’re dead whatever lol

No problem. Yeah, I think challenge runs could be kinda cool for this since you have so many options (which is definitely a strong point of this game imo). A few hours in, I got a Dreepy and Riolu within 10 feet of each other so I got two team members there
Are you stuck with the academy uniform for the whole game?
I think so (which is f***ing ridiculous btw). From what I saw, the only options are the ones for each season. Only thing I found were accessories, so I just rocked the winter outfit the entire game with nothing else lol.
Man I was so hyped. I’m still going to play it but knowing the performance sucks makes me not want to support GFs bullshit
how hard is it really to make a decent looking and running Pokémon game

That’s unfortunate. I guess it makes sense but it’s a big step backwards. I loved the outfit customization in Sword and Shield.

Yeah, I agree. Bit jarring to have had way more outfit customizations in previous games lol.
