It's not that they're out of touch. They don't priotize the games anymore. The A team works on other IPs while the smaller b team throws s*** at the wall for Pokemon. It's not a priority anymore. They won't care until the sales for it drop because their other games are well received but doesn't sniff Pokemon sales.

They sure do. They actually hired more. They just throw them on the A team. They no longer have a dedicated team working strictly on Pokemon. They're not going to sell their half of the property because they would be dumb because they can't create a game that's as polarizing as Pokemon.

It's not that they're out of touch. They just don't care. Read up on some of their interviews. They only care about the bottom dollar. Morimoto interview from 2010 where he said when he was the director of HGSS he wanted to pack in as much content as possible to please the older and new fans it is vastly different from Masuda interview in 2014 where basically he said they're only trying to appeal to new comers because people have phones and other things to prioritize their minds now. People are quick to move on from games(which is true) so that was their reason for not including the Battle frontier in ORAS. It's a BS excuse to half ass the game.

They're in no way out of touch. They're just appealing to the bottom dollar while trying to catch lightning in a bottle with a new IP. It's going to be their downfall this way. In this decade alone GF has doubled their other IP outputs. They're not focused on Pokemon. Until sales slipped they'll continue to not care about Pokemon.
