from what i'm seeing is that most casuals are done or nearly done their first play-throughs

in another 2 weeks we'll mark "1 month since release" and the only people left playing at that time will be the competitive players and/or the slow players still collecting all 400

so TBH the game is a 8/10 and that's the best it gets

i'd give it 9 or 9/10 if it had a story-redeeming end game

and if it had a juicy end game AND better graphics (models, textures, lighting) this could have been a 9.5/10 or perfect 10 regardless of the leaks or regardless of Dexit...hmmm

I apparently put in 80 hours in my one play-through, wow!

The last time I replayed an 80 hour game was never. Looks like I most likely wait until Gen 9.
I hope everyone still playing through the game, completing their dex, shinny hunting, or gearing up for competitive play has a fun time 💜

(I also agree with you that it’s an 8/10, which in my opinion is low for Pokémon but still a good game of course)

The one thing I will say this Pokémon did better than previous games was compelling me to try to complete the dex. I’ve seen other people say this upcoming statement so I know I’m not alone on this- This is the first Pokémon game I have ever bothered to try to complete the dex (Unless you count Pokémon Go season 1 LOL).

This game is a straight 6 at BEST and thats being nice. No way this is the culmination of one of the best selling franchises in HISTORY. They could of did more but made a choice not to and will instead try to farm more money on the next year drop.

Look at Read Dead 2. GTAV was one of the highest grossing games ever and they followed up with a similarly or even bigger game. You make more money, you invest more to keep that standard. Period.

No most Pokemon games aren't a 9.5. haven't been in years. A 9.5 is close to a perfect game and Gen 6, 7, and 8 has been far from perfect games. Gen 8 feels like a beta game.
