people so excited to find any flaw in drake right now its kinda weird honestly

one thing to pay attention to the beef and pick a side, its a whole other thing get excited about the "failure" of a celebrity that has no idea who you are

I don’t think anything in what they said shows they are celebrating.
Just pointing out how a Drake drop would have had the whole summer on lock.
Just not the case anymore.

But we can’t pretend the below didn’t happen.

The argument of taking a break from music vs. stay putting out music is interesting.

Taking a break and not delivering a classic song/album opens the possibility to greater scrutiny and a perception shift than stay putting out music. But it raises curiosity upon comeback.

On the other hand you can make listeners numb to your sound which leads to a general perception shift too. Which been happening with Drake.

I always have to remind myself that what we are witnessing as far as a run and success is unprecedented. Therefore difficult to predict and even more difficult to navigate as an artist.

maybe its just the constant theme of it, each drop drake makes it under the microscope and if it doesnt go #1 its a failure

i know it got brought onto himself by rapping about how his numbers are out of here, and post beef obviously all eyes are on him to see how he recovers so its fair

but idk i cant pay that much attention to that s*** so i think its weird, i just like the music

with that said I know for a fact there will be a drake fan posting about how kendricks next thing flops if it does, so not like its one sided

True he is under heavy surveillance, but it speaks more to the beef than anything.

The beef as a moment was bigger than both artists. Kendrick can no longer have moments that are not compared to the beef and Drake cannot make any sort of move without it being seen as him plotting or trying to get some revenge.

Unfortunately for Drake being the loser of the situation means his movements are looked at far less favourably, especially with his issues now being know more broadly.

So many have now attributed the elimination of Drake with the healing of Rap.

lmao its an odd take because how is rap even healing? kendrick releases once every 5 years and said he doesnt care about rap, j cole is releasing presumably his last album, we relying on this years xxl freshman to heal rap? who else other than drake is keeping rap in the mainstream?
