bro idk what ur smokin but i got my ps4 in 2013, and it could play 1080p 60fps (though usually 30 fps) and gave me hardware that still makes games look good today.
it's not about raw power, like you said, its about the games and how good they look.
ps5 is hype because its that but with 4k and 60fps, so I have another 7 years of gaming with ps5... seems worth it to me

At launch consoles are much better value than a PC and that's a fact. PS5/XSX are around 2080-2080 Super in terms of power all for ~ $500. A PC as powerful (spec wise) would run you at least $800, and it won't even be as powerful when you factor in the optimizations consoles can get.

If you plan on buying a console later in the generation, it's probably more worth it to just buy a modern PC

As a PC only player that has no interest in consoles, this ps5 is going to be on par with your average gaming PC. it's pretty sick tbh. I think there will no longer be a reasonable reason to say that a PC is definitively better now. It's pure personal preference now.
