God's Plan didn't need Trippie Redd. Toosie Slide didn't need Lil Baby. Lemon Pepper Freestyle didn't need Rod Wave. What's Next didn't need Baby Keem and Playboi Carti.

I really don't know what his thought process was with thinking those songs needed any of those people. Lil Durk actually elevated Laugh Now Cry Later but that song was setup in such a way that even if he didn't have that small part, it would still be a really dope record.

I actually prefer Drake featuring on other people's songs than them featuring on his.

Glad they weren't on it. I don't know about Drake's decision-making lately if he thinks all these singles need some of these rappers on them.

To stay current and relevant.

Drake will always be drake, but because of his celebrity there are certain arenas and areas he simply can't tap into that a Durk or Lil baby or Playboi Carti or keem can.

It's strategy if nothing else. Plus I'm sure he really likes them as artists.

I'm here for him working with them. I just prefer it if those songs appear on their projects because it does more for them that way.

Yeah I can’t stand when goat level rappers add the “rapper of the moment” to their albums, especially if those artists are trash.

I agree with you. Give the song to the other artist at that point 😂

Yeah I mean, they almost always do.

He almost always finds a way to work with the hot in the moment artists, and the records almost never find their way onto his studio albums.

Like I said, I don't think it's malicious or a bad thing, he's not "using" them, but for awhile now that's how he's stayed relevant in certain spaces.

I think he just likes to stay tapped in, which is always a good thing. You never want to get to a point where you feel like you're so above the culture your music services that you don't at least touch on some of the trends that are happening or coming up in the game. The best rappers always find ways to remain current but do it in a way where they never lose their own identity.

Drake and his team are well aware of how these albums will be perceived historically.

20 years from now, you don't wanna look at CLB and see "Gunna" on the tracklist and they know that.

There's a reason why "Sneakin" wasn't on an album

Laugh now w/durk won't be on an album.

There's a reason why he was willing to do the Yung Bleu record

Why HE personally reached out and did the record with Drakeo, but Drakeo won't be found on CLB

Endless examples tbh He'll probably have something on Voice of The Hereos too watch

He does these one offs with these acts because he 1) f***s with these rappers and 2) It helps him stay relevant.

I feel like Drake uses these acts like Carti, Keem, Lil Baby, for their clout and uses them as a guide when it comes to writing with like, new flows and s***.

By engaging with them, he stays tapped in with what's next (no pun intended)

Trippie redd with God's plan, this, Lemon Pepper with Rod Wave, Lil Baby with wants and needs, etc. Laugh now with Dark

I don't even mean this in a bad or malicious way it's very clear that on some level, he's keeping tabs on what's hot and trying to stay connected
