I may end up checking out everyone’s albums this week just cause but I won’t review em all
@DJ7A7A listened to the Cat EP! Very enjoyable, chill listen. Good vibe. Sound kinda took me back to 2000s with a modern touch. It's quite simple, K-pop is here to stay.
8/10

im glad u enjoyed it! new jeans are a kpop group to check for
gonna listen to this blink182 album and let u know my thoughts
Ok so Major Key, I’ve heard it before but cool to revisit. As far as Khaled albums go this is one of his better ones and probably his most star studded. Any rapper that was hot in 2016 was on the album kinda felt like a time capsule of the year and many of the songs sound like 2016. First half better than the second half
I’d rate it a 6/10 but having a French feature gives it an extra point for a respectable 7/10
Wavves - King of the Beach ( @gnarlynasty )
Went into this completely blind, listened whilst working on a chilly monday morning.
Upbeat production and cool subject matter/lyrics, it's a smooth listen, with each song effortlessly transitioning into the next.
Mix on this album is incredible, really adds a unique and distinctive character to the project.
Overall, a 8/10.
Highlights: Super Soaker, Green Eyes, Linus Spacehead
@Terry
I was actually surprised by this album considering it was a random pick
Im not too much of a fan of blink182 but this was nice, might go through their discog now
fav songs are wasting time, carousel and fentoozler

MGMT - Congrtatulations
This is the second album I listened to by MGMT. First one being Oracular Spectacular, feel like they took a more laid back approach to this record compared to their last. When first looking at the tracklist I was a bit skeptical about the track Siberian Breaks due to it being 12 minutes but it ended up being my fav track. Songs like Somethings Missing, I Found a Whistle and the second half of Siberian Breaks are amazing makes it feel like i’m gradually floating on a cloud. The run from Someones Missing all the way to Siberian Breaks is crazy and are ironically my 4 favorite songs on the album. Really enjoyed this album.
Fav tracks: Someones Missing, Flash Delirium, I Found a Whistle and Siberian Breaks
Rating 8/10
Carole King - Tapestry
Ashamed to say I haven't listened to a Carole King album before now, and man was I missing out. The production is just wonderful, that clean early 70s sound that still retains the live-room feel of the 60s, the slightly rough edges of her vocal recording, the way it's slightly too low in the mix, just fantastic.
I Feel the Earth Move has a fantastic groove, would love it to go on even longer, a great early morning song that makes me feel like I'm heading off to work on a summer's day in 70s NYC. I love the nostalgic feeling of So Far Away, the melody really shows off her voice, 'Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore?', Jesus that's real. Love some bassoon. It's Too Late is a CLASSIC, just one of those songs you want to live in, like a really nice room if that makes sense, all the furniture's perfect. Home Again is comforting but pretty minor, didn't leave as much of an impression as the rest.
It's probably very embarrassing that I heard the OG version of Highlights before Beautiful, but this is a lovely track, I love the marching rhythm when the chorus swells. Way Over Yonder doesn't really do much for me, the lyrics are nice but that kind of slow bar-room style isn't my thing. You've Got A Friend is obviously a fantastic performance, a beautiful song that comes from a place of genuine kindness, but there's a touch of desperation to it, who needs more convincing, her friend or Carole?
I hate to say it but Where You Lead felt like filler, fewer interesting musical ideas than the other tracks. Will You Love Me Tomorrow is really nice though, you can really feel the devotion in her delivery, a great song to just close your eyes to and sink. Smackwater Jack is a lot of fun, I think I definitely prefer the more upbeat tracks, it's great to hear some real bite in Carole's voice too, much more vicious subject matter. Tapestry is incredible, genuinely gave me chills, the melody sounds centuries old, reminds me of songs my parents would sing to me as a kid, amazing imagery, I'd love to hear more of her working in this sort of abstract way. You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman is a solid cover of a classic song, not really much else to say.
Overall, 7/10, really good classic 70s singer-songwriter stuff, definitely gonna check out more of her work, a little inconsistent, but the highlights are REALLY good
hopefully we can get the rest of the reviews in by friday

saveme’s album review for Secrets by Gil Scott-Heron & Brian Jackson

Nothing but wisdom from the late great Gil Scott-Heron all over this album. I love everything about this, I must admit I haven’t listened to his discography outside of I’m New Here & Pieces of a Man so I’ve got some catching up to do & this album has inspired me to do a deep dive. This album is so groovy yet tackles a lot of problems that are still relevant today. It explores poverty, d*** addiction, consumerism & most importantly the human condition. He sure knows how to convey his emotions with his voice, it’s so full of emotion. I love me a good jazz-funk album & this absolutely delivered. The songwriting is just perfection throughout the entire album.
I would highly recommend everyone else give this a listen.
