Macklemore makes same love and says the f word on that song and is hip hop savior Kendrick says the f word and is an enemy of the lgbtq community lol. Pitchfork sucks now I have notice they just glorified lgbtq and female artist a straight male specially rapper never gets a bnm score
First off nobody cares about macklemore and second he said it 10 years ago
Just called pitchfork they said mistake it’s 11/10
Condé Nast workers went on strike early this morning I heard
P4K been trash but not gonna lie the review is actually very well written and makes sense.
The score is not his fault and the mocking of the guy’s looks because he isn’t your stereotypical hip hop head is also uncalled for.

Top must’ve got on the phone
Their review system plays a big part in these discombobulated scores. Instead of having one or two people actually knowledgeable on a particular genre, having them review that one genre and score it off their opinion. It seems they let people claim to knowledgeable on all genres,so they let everyone review everything and instead of one persons opinion, they calculate up everyone’s scores as if that’s an honest assessment.
Everyone’s entitled to their opinion but sometimes, their can be too many opinions. To the point there’s a bunch of people who don’t know what their talking about.
Y’all really just gon disrespect TPAB like that to gas Morale?
My least favorite Kenny project but I know the internet loves that one lol

Macklemore and "hip-hop savior" in the same sentence makes absolutely no sense even for the point you are attempting to make here.

Condé Nast we got work to do
pitchfork is made up of people just like you and me
some people on ktt2 love the album, some people think it's ok and beneath kendrick's previous efforts
voila, a 7.6 is born
i didn't take "go against the grain" quite the way you did in the context of the post you quoted tho
the context though was the guy I replied to saying you need reviewers going against the grain
which I disagree with
you need honest opinions
so we agree
i see what you are saying, i think we have two different opinions though. and i do not think movies are the best comparison because they cant be consumed as easily. I just think, take a song like Way 2 Sexy, no matter how DOG S*** we can agree the song is, there is a part of it that is undeniably good, whether it's because it is catchy, corny, whatever it may be, that song got airplay and it is not just because OVO is paying people off or something. I do think while it is hard to classify just exactly what this is, I do not think it should just be lost upon a rating on the music,
It’s not but at the same time,I remember when you had publications like The Source and XXL who has given great to classic reviews to panned or average rated albums by other critics. And if you can come from a truly different perspective and convince me on why you disagree with all these other critics, ima listen to your opinion and give the music another shot.
P4K just seems to not get the album and are just disappointed at the fact that they expected something totally different. Their review of The Heart Pt.5 suggest this. Seems like they thought that song was some kinda deep a***ysis on celebrity culture cause of the video
instead, they got a self portrait of Kendrick Lamar and they know damn well no one in rap at the moment is creating music on this level.
It’s all an agenda
this is a fair assessment
thank god we have music critics to dictate morality and decide what people are allowed to say
So it seemed like they didn’t like it because the album was more about him even though it’s a self reflecting album. Kendrick is right you can’t please everybody
the context though was the guy I replied to saying you need reviewers going against the grain

Pitchfork has been ass since it got bought out by Conde Nast its really no surprise. When its owned by the same people as GQ, Vouge, The New Yorker. You know youre not getting honest media. I miss the Ryan Schreiber Pitchfork days.
Great point I noticed the same thing.
There's gotta be some behind the scenes s*** where that type of stuff is a consolation prize for not driving a certain amount of page views for a BNM write up.
They gave King Krule a whole week and interview etc. only to give him a 7.8 for man alive. They did a similar thing with Earl for SICK too
