I think Kendrick will struggle to ever top GKMC because that album was so personal and that is what made it great, its very unlikely his life will be as interesting again
Said it before and I’ll say it again, he needs to develop a serious heroin habit before recording any more music. This would be the best possible career move for him.
He would produce a deranged, dark, d***ged out experimental album that would be praised. He’d give grizzly accounts of life and the situations he gets into while being a fiend, and hustling pills on the side to fuel his addiction as people begin to distance themselves from him. Soon it would come out about his addiction and the media would be buzzing. Scandal after scandal would arise and he’d be the most talked about person in the world as he continues down this dark path of addiction and insanity. Then, he would get arrested for possession and do a stint in jail, adding credibility to the hard image he’s been trying to adopt for sometime. The #FreeKendrick movement would be like nothing we’ve ever seen before and it would spark an international conversation about how we treat addicts (rehabilitative vs punitive punishment.
Kendrick would get out, get clean, and become the face of the opiate epidemic sweeping North America, opening him up to even wider audiences and platforms. His first album after release would sell a million first week and be praised, as Kenny explores a whole new realm of lyrical content reflecting on his past degenerate behavior and becomes a symbol of hope for millions dealing with addiction. This would be great for his image, solidify him as one of the greatest rappers ever, and create worldwide change that benefits millions for years to come.
The best possible thing Kendrick could do for his career is to start doing as much dog food as possible, as soon as possible.
what situation does a p4k review get a positive response from KTT,
Jack Harlow review thread
Biggest confirmation of review copies being sent out is typically something leaking, and nothing from this did
Is that bulletproof confirmation though?
Cause UU is better maybe.
It really is.
No confirmation of review copies. The way this was staggered to be a global release, Id like to think there weren't any but I could be wrong
I could be as well
but i agree with you that there are definitely disingenuous reviews about unfortunately
you dont need reviewers to "go against the grain"
that's not honest
that's just appealing to the contrary
why would anyone listen to someone who makes content just to be a devil's advocate
to feel deceived by a work is to imply there were expectations. dude barely put out a single nor a tracklist. the expectations were entirely imaginary. to blame kendrick for that is to deny culpability
pitchfork is made up of people just like you and me
some people on ktt2 love the album, some people think it's ok and beneath kendrick's previous efforts
voila, a 7.6 is born
i didn't take "go against the grain" quite the way you did in the context of the post you quoted tho
UU is NOT better than this cmon
Morale got higher highs but also a bunch of tracks I'll never play again. UU doesnt have misses

It’s not but at the same time,I remember when you had publications like The Source and XXL who has given great to classic reviews to panned or average rated albums by other critics. And if you can come from a truly different perspective and convince me on why you disagree with all these other critics, ima listen to your opinion and give the music another shot.
P4K just seems to not get the album and are just disappointed at the fact that they expected something totally different. Their review of The Heart Pt.5 suggest this. Seems like they thought that song was some kinda deep a***ysis on celebrity culture cause of the video
instead, they got a self portrait of Kendrick Lamar and they know damn well no one in rap at the moment is creating music on this level.
It’s all an agenda
They gave UU an 8.6 and this a 7.6. Lol.
and there can be various reasons for that. conciseness and cohesion (subjective of course) for example. pitchfork got y'all devaluing the rest of the discog now?
lol
Watching KTT struggle with whether or not reviews matter now for Kenny is making my Monday morning 🤭

It’s just an 8 track EP compilation full of unmixed levrtovers from TPAB era, it doesn’t take away from the quality but still
The score makes sense.
-1 for including a cancelled person
-.5 for misgendering
-.5 for deadnaming
-.2 for anti white woman misogyny
-.2 for acknowledging cancel culture

Not saying it's his fault, it's just artist's tend to make better content when they have something to talk about, a story they want to tell.
Truth is Kendrick is pretty chill now, never see him apart from for performances and the occasional interview, therefore he has less interesting stuff to rap about.
Lmao what’s gonna be next? KTT & P4K telling me Frank Ocean next album gonna be trash and that 6LACK makes better music?
His second best after GKMC. KTT shorting on this one bit slobbering UU and TPAB is weird af to me ngl
