K-Thots so delusional, they think anyone not riding Kendrick's d*** is on Drake's payroll
Oh and btw, Alphonso has spent a lot more time s***ting on Drake and everything he does than he's ever done s***ting on Kendrick.
you are a d-thot tho
Actually, no. I wanted an entire album of Kendrick talking his s*** and taking a victory lap, not crying about some people who didn't ride his d*** all summer. That's like Drake winning his battle with Meek and then on track 1 of WATTTBA, he's calling out certain industry folks who didn't publicly back him. That's p**** s*** anyway you slice it.
So wait not only are you wrong about what he said, but now you saying that's what he done throughout all 12 tracks and you say you're not a hater?
But I get it now, you're upset he didn't do a victory lap (like he didn't already do that with the pop out), it's clouding your judgement
Look, I get it. Not everyone is going to agree with my take, and that’s part of the job. When I review an album, I’m not writing to confirm your bias or cater to fandoms—I’m giving you my honest perspective, backed by years of listening to and studying music. That’s the gig.
Kendrick is undeniably one of the most important artists of our time, but not everything he drops is above critique. GNX is ambitious, no doubt, but ambition doesn’t automatically equal greatness. My review wasn’t about tearing him down; it was about engaging with the music critically. If that didn’t line up with your feelings about the album, cool—we’re allowed to disagree.
But let’s be real: the energy some of y’all bring to these threads makes it clear you don’t want reviews; you want validation. That’s not what I’m here for. Let the music speak for itself, and if you think I’m off the mark, fine—but at least try to engage with the points instead of coming with pitchforks. Respectfully.
Alphonse got on here and cooked yall? Lmao

Used to read MBDTF review with my friends proud,
irony i think my hard work let ALPHONSE down
Album should outsell Mr. Morale so that's a W, I guess.
Both will be a few times platinum

I know everyone is enjoying the circus…
Alphonse is the perfect hire for Pitchfork. They’ve always been this way whether Kendrick and Ye used to be the favs or not.

someone couple pages back saw the user posted in another thread about being from germany or some s*** lol
It's not a good review because it's hardly even about the music lol it's mostly just projection, digs at Kendrick as an artist/person, and claims that Kendrick only leaned into the West Coast sound to spite Drake despite Kendrick making it extremely clear throughout his entire career the West Coast sound greatly influences him.
There's plenty of a***ysis of the music and the background is generally relevant or useful context given what preceded this album. I don't think it's necessarily unfair to tie kendrick leaning into the west coast stuff to the beef either, whether you want to see that as a pejorative or observation is down to personal preference I guess.
As I said, I think it's pretty obvious that Alphonse is not a particularly big kendrick fan and I would assume he finds him self important or something. His articles in the past would lead me to believe he likes more street rap style stuff with pronounced regional elements - you would think he likes this more as a result but tbf he says he wishes the features got more prominence. He clearly also sees drake as a sort of larger than life figure in the genre and doesn't really take him all that seriously which leads to him not really slamming his musical output, for better or worse. So yeah, I would take his particular views on kendricks work with a little bit of salt but I think it's ridiculous for ppl to get majorly offended by this too: I think it makes for interesting food for thought and god forbid somebody doesn't think every kendrick albums a 10/10!
I'd have given the album a 7 but I'm not mad at this score. It's definitely interesting seeing Kendrick fans be so bothered whenever he does anything and it isn't immediately followed by worldwide praise and adulation. Just goes to show how little criticism he's ever had to deal with.
That's why track 1, Kendrick was crying about Snoop Dogg and Wayne not kissing his ass. He legit thinks those are valid things to be that upset about lol.
It's interesting that you seen it as him crying. When I heard those lines, to me he sounded cocky as hell lmao (in a positive way), saying s*** like "my hard work let Wayne down" is an insane way to lil bro someone you respect.
Hearing "man in the garden" and him asserting that he deserves everything just reaffirms my thoughts on this and that he really just thinks he is on a completely different level than his peers. If anything rather than him crying I would have expected people to view him as some sort of d***head (Personally, I love this level of confidence coming from a rapper though)
drake stans itt all of a sudden caring about critic reviews
I don't care, but its funny since Kendrick fans only care about them.

Y'all keep doing the goofy ass "god forbid someone doesn't like the album!" s*** thinking y'all saying something, when most people itt who liked the album don't mind that he didn't like it. They're saying it's a hating ass review that barely covers the actual music itself. Or it's flat out projection and assumptions.
That's just not a good review man lol
