Socialism
Socialism inherently implies that you're concerned about society in the actual word (people and their ownership of where they work and seeing the benefits of the things they provide etc)
whereas capitalism implies Capital is the number one priority therefore profit is more important than the wellbeing of society from the beginning,
It doesn't mean businesses cease to exist when you advocate for more socialism but rather the workers seeing the benefit of their labor and it being invested back into the people, i.e. everyone having healthcare, education to be able to contribute to the world in a higher capacity, this seems like even capitalists should advocate for their workers to be happier so they'd do better work, but no, they don't give a f***
Can we have something thats a decent median between the two?
No. Thats a nonsensical idea pushed by people who truly have no idea about capitalism or socialism.
theres no way its that simple. There are different kinds of each.
I think the question is more about small or large government right?
No, this is not the question.
A blended approach is the only humane and smart way forward
that's lowkey exactly socialism because socialism is the transition period
Do you consider capitalism to be working right now... or?
Yes to an extent
Where has Socialism succeeded
Where has capitalism
It succeeds in social democracies bro
Still inequality and depends on exploitation to succeed
i also took those classes and saw those dumb incorrect psuedo science graphs and this dumb claim. hayek is a moron
i will be dead by then
And this is why the human race is f***ed ^^^
Don’t give a f*** about the future cause you can’t see past your own life

oh i do care the future and i see no future in capitalism working succeeding when automation coming in
but i don't have answers to replace it
thats why the arts/stem is so important
I can't judge or determine an animal's nature after i put him in a cage and i can't judge a human's nature if put him in capitalism. I believe human beings without the need to prove themselves to an elite or fear of being impoverished or exiled are generally non-threatening and cooperative
btw sorry if the classes thing seemed from out of nowhere. you might want to know that capitalist theorists use treat the idea that humans are inherently selfish as scientific fact and us it as the base for explaining and justifying all of capitalism.
this like the south park episode where they had to choose between a douche and a turd
bottom line: keep both. f*** the shackles of money and status
where has capitalism succeeded
Capitalism has lifted most of the world out of poverty relative to how life was a few centuries ago. Everyone has become much wealthier on average in the last few centuries even if a few people at the top have become unimaginably wealthy. Poverty levels worldwide continue to go down. Problems get solved quickly through competition. It's not perfect but I'd rather a society where the majority of people who work for a better life will have a better life, rather than everyone live in poverty. It's not perfect but it's better
