This guy could prove to be a good coach. My issue with the hire is the optics of it appearing to be pandering to Wentz. So if we actually did hire a coach with the number one motive being to fix Carson instead of the whole team, then I think we’re f***ed
I will say that he’s had to deal with 3 different QBs with his time in Indy and the advanced numbers show a solid offense each year. If anything, this is a one year thing with Wentz and if he f***s it up he’s gone, Sirianni stays and gets his own guy.

This dude has no relation to Wentz mane let that paranoia go brother.
So we need a DC since Schwartz is retiring and a OC now right?
Yup, there’s a rumored name for the DC job but it seems like he’s sought after in other locations as well so we’ll wait and see there

Yeah, I guess you’re probably right. The issue is though, if he’s on the roster his guarantees for the year after next will effect the cap that year opposed to it he’s gone this off-season then he’ll just effect this years cap hit

Idk, man. Hiring Reich’s guy seems like a last ditch effort to save Wentz.

Yeah that is an issue, however I’d argue that we’d be better equipped to handle it then if need be. Don’t get me wrong if we were to move on get it done sooner than later but they want to give him one final chance, whatever. However, 2022’s cap situation is much brighter so we’d be better equipped to take on a cut hit should he be traded/cut. Don’t have the exact number with me but last I checked it was around 50M free in 2022? Something to that effect. Point being if he’s trash in 2021 we won’t be competing in 2022 anyway. If he rebounds in 2021 then we’ll see what the landscape of the team is looking like.

Why in the hell would this FO do anything to pander towards Wentz when they’re the ones who jumped at the chance to draft a replacement with glaring holes in other positions?
If anything they’re going for someone less notable in hopes that they have little backbone and fall in line with the shipwreck they’re navigating

Forget the FO, this hire is all the way from the top. This is Jeff Lurie’s call, Roseman wanted McDaniels but couldn’t convince Lurie to swing that way.

Or maybe tryna reclaim that magic we had with Reich as OC... but I guess that would lend credence to wanting Carson to still be the QB
I'm not an Eagles fan this year. I'm turning in my s***.
Happy day for the thread. I'll see y'all on the flip side.
See you in august
i just hate how bleh the hire is. we need to think outside the box. this is becoming like a family type affair, only hiring dudes that come from dudes that used to be in our org. don’t like that look at all.
People said this same exact thing about Pederson

mannnn. I really want Hurts to be a stud. S*** I will even take Wentz back if he returns to form, but he was a pouty baby after his benching so idk. I just would love to hear a lot of Hurts to Smith/Chase TD calls this year man
who is the rumored DC candidate we are looking at?
Jonathan Gannon, Colts DB coach but he's also being talked about in Atlanta as co-DC with Dean Pees or going to LA with Brandon Staley. Out of the 3 I think it's either us or Staley, supposedly they have a strong relationship but I imagine Staley would be the one calling the defense there.
I'd like the hire 1. Because we desperately need someone well versed in different coverages 2. You can look to this season alone to see the job he's done with DBs in rookie FS Julian Blackmon and getting a strong bounce back season out of FA CB Xavier Rhodes
I trust Lurie hiring head coaches.
This guy helped make the Colts a top 10 offense with middling QB talent, no TEs, average receivers.
Feel like like really overhype Frank Reich. People act like this guy is the second coming of Andy Reid - QB whisperer, offensive genius. He ain’t that yet

He was the third option though. We wanted Mccado or however you spell that guys name and Gase, and they both went other directions thankfully
One good thing I’m hearing is that Howie wanted Mcdaniels, and John Dorsey was the one who suggested Siriani (gonna take some time to learn how to correctly spell his name lmao), so hopefully that means Lurie is at least seeing some kinks in Howie’s armor

Yeah I was reading similar things, sounds like Lurie didn't totally buy what McDaniels was selling. McDaniels was totally a Howie recommendation and I did a little digging to find out why.
McDaniels was the OC on the New England coaching staff, overseeing work done by positional coaches such as Jedd Fisch. Fisch is now the HC at the University of Arizona after serving one year as the QB coach in New England. Why does that matter? Because Fisch's college roommate is one Howie Roseman lol.
What people were getting mixed up about Sirianni and Dorsey was that they might have spent time in KC together, that's actually false they didn't really overlap but there is a connetion there. Now some people might say "Well John Dorsey hired Freddie Kitchens, is that really someone whose opinion we should hold highly?" You'd be correct in that thinking, however what everyone is forgetting is that Dorsey requested to interview Sirianni himself while he was still the GM of the Cleveland Browns. Nick turned the interview down because the Colts were still in their playoff run and he wanted to focus on the games.

Lmaoooooo Howie is such a little rat. The memes of him being Little Finger from GoT is too spot on
Y'all loved Chip and hated Doug. Y'all will be iight. Give homeboy a chance. At worst, he'll just be a transitional coach
Chill
Homie has said that multiple times and I think even during the SB year he didn't watch. But I bet his a@@ was trying to get to Broad Street in 17'
