If nothing else, the defense will definitely play faster next season than they did this past one

Swapping out Bradberry for Mitchell, (in my eyes) swapping out Maddox for DeJean, CJ for whoever the f*** was playing safety next to Reed, and then (eventually) Reed for Sydney with Reed still rotating in as a 3rd safety

Then at LB, I have questions about his overall game but no one can deny that Devin White is a blur out there. Our players on defense couldn't even match up athletically with opposing offenses last season before we even got into the issues with coaching. While I'm still not the hugest fan of the Fangio defense it'll at least be ran by the guy who knows it best, so that is an upgrade. If the new players can pick this up quickly and just play as fast as we know that they can, there is a chance we get a faster, more physical brand of football defensively next season.

Idk who Reed is but I didn't see the name Blankenship!! Anywhere in this post. Remains to be seen that Bradberry would suddenly be the third corner behind two rookies. Would be easier to release a guy in that situation, one would think.

We still got Darius Leonard at LB and two new LB's to help him out. Idk any other names at that position

I've done an unhealthy amount of looking into the REAL Fangio scheme this offseason, and the biggest takeaway I have is a better understanding of why he drops his edge rushers every now and then, and why it actually works in the context of sound defense lol

It's not passive at all when done correctly, just not what we are used to seeing. Crazy part is when done in the right manner, you still get plenty of pressure on the quarterback, even if you are technically only sending 4 rushers
