    1. Demoting (firing) a coordinator midseason just to see that unit get worse

    2. A player's only meeting with the purpose of it for the player's to put their trust in the coaches...in Week 18

    3. An embarrassing end to the regular season after said player's only meeting

I truly believe Sirianni's job is not 100% assured

Nobody’s job should be safe outside of big Dom and Stout tbh

  • ugh. hurts. team's goals seemed entirely out of line. they treated that small stretch like the super bowl. NICK very specifically treated KC like the SB. completely lost sight of what matters. get em out!

I'm wavering here cause personally I'd move on now and I said my reasons regarding play calling/play design continuity, etc.

But I just don't know if Lurie does it just yet

Personally I think you still give him another season with a competent staff, but he’s on a short leash. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is gone knowing our front office though

If he has to hire a new staff, enough of this overemphasis on stopping the big play because now we aren't stopping anything at all

And offensively, let whoever the new OC is run HIS offense, not yours, because we couldn't even tell you what the "Nick Sirianni offense" is supposed to be

This all comes back to my initial problem with hiring defensive-minded HCs but instead we have the issue with an offensive HC who doesn't know how to call an offense

Ima be real, idek if you give Nick the final say on who is hired right now, that’s the amount of leash I’m giving him

If we're willing to go to that length just cut the cord entirely

Doug 2.0. Just get the best upcoming coordinators from college. Nick gets no say in the matter

  • Jan 8, 2024

We need a mans man to be HC.
A nerd to be our OC
And an old grizzled tuff guy that chews tobacco for our DC

Sirianni being back or not will 100% be determined by his plan at the end of season meeting with Lurie and Howie.

If Nick does not have a solid and concise plan to right this then he is gone.

No point in forcing Coordinators on him, if it comes to that point you already don’t trust him

I feel you, it’s a wild situation we’re in as a franchise, idk if there’s any definitive answer. You definitely did sell me on the hiring an offensive minded HC point though. We’ll just be stuck in this endless cycle if we can’t find a HC that can competently call plays

It’s why the Niners and the Rams can lose 10,000 coordinators and still be straight, because the main guy is still the main guy through it all

With a defensive coach, yeah trying to find an OC would be tiresome but at least you could hang your hat on the defense at least being league average/competent

We have an offensive coach where BOTH sides of the ball stink. And the offense is top 5 talented at WORST
