Working through those watchlist movies that pta dropped

Midnight Run was hard and also very clear what PTA picked up from it. Watching Running on Empty by Lumet next. The plot alone sounds very similar to OBAA

Usually when a new film is getting rave reviews you regularly see praise like “best of the year” or “best of the genre since x year”, but I’m routinely seeing “best of the decade” praise getting thrown out for this and it’s got me super intrigued

Like what is it exactly about this film that’s garnering such high praise?

Looks like it's the first big budget movie of the 2020's to capture the current zeitgeist
