Reviews embargo lifting september 8
Damn that’s early. Is it because of a festival premier?

It’s not the full review embargo. Just social media reactions. They’re having a press screening in NYC this Friday then the official world premiere in LA is on Monday.
I think it shows confidence in the movie though. I don’t think WB let Sinners or Weapons reactions loose that early
ngl this is gonna be an event for me, I've been looking forward to it all year.
the pure existence of a Pynchon x PTA x Dicaprio political action blockbuster in this current film landscape is a small miracle..
Opening thread and getting jumpscared by Licorice Pizza slander

Pedo pizza is trash
Posting Jerry Seinfeld when talking about Licorice Pizza is truly hilarious
Licorice Pizza is def a step down but after 3 watches since release, I’ve grown to appreciate a lot of it. I watch it every winter now because it reminds me of winter 2021
I like the dynamic between a lost, childish & directionless loser in her mid 20s and a bunch of fun, hustling teenagers. Bunch of goat needles drops and set piece type sequences/montages. Didn’t really reach the heights of any of his others but it clearly wasn’t trying to.
Felt like he just wanting to get a ‘one for me’ personal movie out of his system. In a lot of the interviews around it’s release, he talked about how much of his upbringing (in locations, characters and period) he put into it
Plus it’s just a delight seeing Cooper Hoffman actually have sauce and seeing glimpses of PSH peak through his mannerisms
I dug it quite a bit...not perfect and definitely has its issues and choices I probably wouldn't have gone with but has enough going for it to where I still considered it better than a lot of films that dropped that year
bro when tf are tickets on sale
Crazy that they aren't yet
We've never been more back
Finally seen this in front of Caught stealing. Such an amazing trailer, completely different vibe from the 1st trailer
Looks like they're trying to do the film format thing Coogler did but can't get PTA in front of a camera lol
Confirms that the first tickets are on sale today in one hour.
I got a new 30 second ad spot on Twitter this morning and it might be my favorite yet. Leo is putting on a show
Phantom Thread on Netflix 👀
And Magnolia + Punch Drunk Love on the Criterion Channel
It's PTA season
