You d be surprised lotta ppl looked at perfidia and jungle p**** as intentional mockery charicatures and took lockjaw’s racist rants about mutts as an actual message lol

This exactly the kinda s*** I was talking about lol

Do you think her performance was better than Toni Collette in Hereditary or Lupita in Us?

i don’t like hereditary but by consensus it could have been nominated i actually don’t love lupitas second performance as i have a deaf sister and i found the choice off but i also think it could have been nominated. Madigan is more a career and crazy swing nom but she may not be nominated anyways. i wouldn’t be mad and i think it would behoove the academy to be more welcoming on horror (even though most is ass and even the lauded s*** is mid).

Horror relies on pretty shrill performances as evidence by Toni Colette but i’d say Lupita and Madigan give nuanced awards worth performances

Id argue that Perfidia is the closest to a late career PTA protagonist in the film and in such a race obsessed movie people cannot take such an enigmatic and unresolved character. i think she’s the most intriguing but it would be a lie to say pta wasn’t courting controversy with her depiction. The antiblackness claims are ridiculous to me. The overwhelming liberalism is definitely there

  • i blame the mfers who jump down people throats whenever someone criticizes this movie for fomenting the opposition. Some yall just not generous about discussion and dissenting voices, « it’s the basis of cult »

I don’t get why this movie gets so much praise and hype, when “Eddington” is so much more taped into the current zeitgeist and way more relevant

Because this is way more entertaining although I agree Eddington has more relevance today with what it’s trying to say

They're both on the nose, but OBAA has a lot more going on plus PTA directing keeps everything chugging along at a breathless pace. Aka more entertaining as a movie.
