problematic theme regarding black women & power aside (this is what black power looks like ), it's a great film. Rewatch hit even more than the initial watch.

that goes back to my original point. If she was being forced/raped she could have easily killed him.

She willingly took the raw dog from lockjaw.

The reason why she met up with him in the first place is because when she got caught setting up the bomb, lockjaw had leverage and she had no weapons. Lockjaw was going to snitch if she didn’t come.

    1. There initial s***power dynamic, Perfidia is the Dom and lockjaw is the sub. Perfidia controls the sex.

    2. She has a Gun , We've seen Perfidia Character, she loves control.

    3. What advantage does lockjaw have nutting in her and chasing a baby for 16 years.

    4. Perfidia will kill an innocent "BLACK" security guard but not someone "raping" her.

    5. Somehow lockjaw had "Unprotected" s***with her during her fertility window? How often was she having s***with Pat?

Idk its either Perfidia allowed it or there's a flaw in the writing. i want to believe option 1

    100%

And let’s not forget their first interaction she held him at gunpoint and forced him to “get hard”….it goes both ways. She’s not this helpless victim.

And movie wise Lockjaw said “if you wanna keep blowing up s*** bring me back my gun and hat”

He never once said “you need to f*** me or else”…..now obviously that can be assumed, but when we cut to the hotel she’s in control, she’s telling him shut up, she’s playing in that nigga booty, pause.

So yeah I don’t see either as a straight up victim. She literally did not have to go to the hotel. She very clearly showcased she’s gonna do what she wants when she wants regardless of the circumstance.

The people swearing she was just a victim remind me of the people who said the new Nosferatu HAD to be an allegory for sexual assault.

These films are so much more interesting when we just acknowledge that women like sex. Even, gasp problematic sex.

Exactly! Chalking her up as a victim erases the complexity of her character. Was she partly coerced during the one night stand? Maybe, a little debatable based around what we know about her character and how that played out.

Was she coerced when she got caught? 100% but at that point do we give a f***? We just watched her kill an innocent black security guard for what?

I seen that you made a comparison with the guard she shot later on, but that's assuming that cops give a f*** about niggas dying, and that's a white military dude she's dealing with. Hard to really distill that s*** down to "if she killed that guard, then why didn't she kill Lockjaw?"

And don't get me wrong: there's a tendency on here for folks to assume that a***yzing her character in ways that don't paint her negatively all the way automatically means I'm saying she was perfect or she was a helpless victim. That's not it. But I simply don't believe that power tilted in her favor like a lotta people are saying on here. Still, love the discussion

I don’t think killing him was ever an option. But I do question how much of the first interaction is coercion. I think the fact he told her “meet me here later” rather than just tryna f*** in the bathroom puts agency back in Teyannas character. Because she showcased to us she’s gonna go wherever she pleases no matter what. So I do feel, yes obviously manipulation was going on from both ends but there is also parts of her that wanted to be there and dominate the nigga lmao.

I think she loved dominating white men, especially white men in power which she did until she got caught. I think the actual coercion happened when she got caught and no longer had any agency to make decisions. Until she finally decided to run away.
