Btw who told you she is inspired by Assata Shakur?

    literally Teyana herself

She got this role because she was on a TV show already, bro

Hope she doesn’t do it again

he's oversexualizing Black women and interracial relationships for almost the entire 30 minutes or so. It was very off-putting.

I don't care that the white men are completely incompetent since they aren't inspired by real revolutionaries. Perfidia is directly inspired by Assata Shakur and it doesn't help that she literally died the day the movie was released. Obviously, anybody who knows anything about Assata is going to feel a way.

I think the problem with the movie is that the Black revolutionaries were never meant to be Black revolutionaries in the first place. They were white in the book and they should've stayed white.

a movie can be great and problematic at the same time lol that's Tarantino's entire filmography.

    You gon be ok?

my take didn't come from twitter. I simply watched the movie and made my own observations which you can't seem to handle or argue towards.

it's funny because most of the people making the same critiques also enjoyed the movie lol

you're such an idiot that you think anyone who holds any strong critique on the art you blindly love is angry and hateful

not seeing the Assata parallels tbh, seems like the biggest connection is with the release of the movie and Assata's passing

maybe Taylor drew inspiration from her, but aside from being a black female revolutionary, how are they similar? they had different causes, storylines, and eras

Perfidia was based on the character Frenesi from Pynchon's Vineland. that character was white but also highly sexualized and used her sexuality as a weapon the same way we saw in OBAA

The new take I been seeing is that Bob wrote the letter at the end. That it’s two people lying to each other for the greater good. Bob about the letter, and Willa about him being her biological dad

    I don’t believe it

Nah... nothing about his character would suggest a lie like this. He loves his daughter. He's earnest, but flawed and not a manipulator.
