I would probably feel bad for Will Smith if he didn’t do b**** s*** like this
Wait I didn’t even notice till now that’s not even real Will Smith
crazy snub

Oscars need to learn that the Best Picture doesn’t have to sweep every other category it’s nominated for
Crazy to think back that Fabelmans won movie oty at the Golden Globes
I liked the movie but that was a stretch and I can only imagine the shambles is if it won here

I was thinking about that earlier. It kinda sucks how 99% of the time best picture can be predicted by the package that it gets beforehand.

Last night discussion regarding best performance noms turned into comparing the films.
An actor can have a better performance in a worse movie

I saw something on Twitter last night before the screenplay awards were given out, and someone was worried that All Quiet was gonna take best picture and someone replied, "Screenplay will determine everything" and it's just like... why?
Theoretically it shouldn't happen often given all the branches that make up the Academy, yet somehow there are very, very clear patterns that determine pretty much every Best Picture winner.

I also hate the idea of an Oscar campaign. Actors shouldn’t need to build a storyline surrounding their win

I have conflicting opinions on campaigns. The Riseborough example isn't the best but I do appreciate when a film/performance that would get no love or attention otherwise is suddenly thrust into the public eye. Once October/November comes along and those 5-8 actors (per category) get pulled into the award season whirlpool, it's nearly impossible for anyone else to get in without a strong campaign.
The scummy s*** to me is when an already locked in nominee attempts to drum up something extra in order to secure a win.

Oh that makes sense lol
It happens to any winner. The curse of being on top
