power of the dog was alright, i wouldn't mind it winning, 12 noms is crazy

Definitely a stronger pick than Nomadland. I liked Nomadland, but there’s plenty of other movies that do the plotless character study thing way better.

The reason why I f*** with power of the dogs is because it had there will be blood vibes.

Denis being snubbed for Best Director is a crime with the amount of time and effort he’s put into making dune and the fact that it’s always been his dream project.

Power of the Dog is literally one of the most boring films i’ve seen in a while, and the main reason it’s been nommed 12 times (which is ridiculous in itself) is because of the sexual aspect of it

Nobody on here gonna say no way home snubbed

If Spider-Man was miles morales instead of Peter the oscars would be acting like it was the movie that defeated Covid and racism.

also, it's actually a way better list of best picture nominations than last year. movies that people have seen with famous people in them. i think dune best picture is not out of the realm of possibility

The problem with dune is it’s a pt 1 of a movie with a sequel it had no definite ending. It deserves best visuals Denise is the god of sci fi movies

I thought it was boring too but that’s how I feel about western films in general, might rewatch it

What is you talking about it just wasn’t that great a black man couldn’t save that plot not even 3 white men, a magical boy , zendaya and an older white man with a white woman dying and a blind white man ft evil white men who are monsters but not really with one redemption and a black man consumed by power all in a plot where a white man destroys the world in an effort to get into a ivy league school with his people of color friends

Will win and should win I got Power of the Dog. I just thought it was a good story, well-plotted, well-acted, my man Jonny Greenwood doin his thing. I tend to prefer slower character studies, and Benedict’s character really carried the movie for me. The tension between him and those around him really made me lean in and get invested.

Bro break down to me why the kid killed Benedict, was the writing on the wall the entire movie or did that s*** come from left field?

  • Feb 8, 2022

So many great movies didn't get any shine, goddamn

It's always disappointing when the only movies I haven't seen going into the nominations be s*** like Free Guy and House of Gucci

  • Feb 8, 2022

Flee being nominated for basically everything it could have been was cool though, that's a great movie

  • Feb 8, 2022

Why is that inherently a good thing lol

I don't want the Oscars to be the Grammys, have some standards

Don't Look Up a Best Picture nominee
