Okay Yea I agree bugonia is perfect but it was never going to win sadly. Was a toss up between sinners and OBAA for me. Both great but slightly flawed

IMO, it is def not best picture. Give me like four of the other nominees over OBAA. Again, great movie. Sean Penn and Chase kill it. But the overall Leo stoner antifa loser storyline was just so meh. I don't feel any ways about Ghetto Bob. He does nothing for me.

In its attempt to be both funny-satirical and a little sincere at the same time, OBAA has some of the hackiest dialogue of PTA's career. The first act is full of clunkers that feel like leftover Tarantino. And it doesn't help that the cast is pretty uneven. It's a very entertaining movie with a lot of heart, but it has flaws. It's just so much fun that they're easy to ignore.
PTA will probably go smaller scale next time, maybe a Phantom Thread kind of thing, and I would probably enjoy that more

Disagree. Would be a 9 for me if not for how dumb they made him. Could’ve toned it down just a tad. The whole “sir I wrecked my brains with d**** and alcohol I can’t possibly remember the safe word to save my only daughter” spiel was cringe
