i guess what i’m thinking of is the chamber pop parts where he uses classical sounding string instruments like the intro, World Outside, A Barely Lit Path, etc.

His last 2 albums had some of that vibe

Songs that come to my mind immediately are 4 and Girl/Boy Song by Aphex Twin

oh yeah you’re right, Aphex does sound almost exactly like that sometimes. I’d forgotten, haven’t listened to a full project by him in forever

haven’t listened to OPN in ages either, only checked this one out because of the Online Ceramics collab but I’m glad i did cuz it’s awesome.

Outside of a few tracks, his work hasn't really hit me since like 2016, up until then, nothing but excellence, and his film soundtrack work is also great, Uncut Gems is unbelievable, only he would have chosen that sound palette

Nice project, had on in back throwing while reading today gotta listen more closely
