Then Loki's fruit could be a play on the fruits being swapped or something. Idk tho, with the name Loki you expect something more mystical or magical even than the rubber fruit

My question more specifically would be, if this fruit that's passed down is for the King of Elbaf, then why hadn't any of them eaten it until Loki? Saving it for a certain reason or person? Awaiting the reincarnation of Joyboy or something? Far CP9 I don't think we know the origins of it, just that the government had it.

I think its probably that 2nd point. They were waiting for the reincarnation of Joyboy/Nika cause maybe Joyboy left a message of some kind similar to Oden’s about how in 20 years a new generation will lead the way

Then Loki says f\*\*\* all that and attempts to take it himself. Maybe during the scuffle this is how the fruit ended up in the Marines hands. A little theory of my own is that Shanks was trying to take the fruit back to the giants

Elbaf vs Elbaph

To be transparent, "Elbaph" was officially romanized for the first time in a Japanese source at the end of this chapter. However, we've chosen not to update our spelling from "Elbaf" at this time, as revising all our previous chapters would be a daunting task.

Additionally, we don't view this as an urgent, plot-relevant change, unlike "Raftel" becoming "Laugh Tale." We also expect "Elbaf" to remain more popular, as "ph" is an unconventional choice here, and the fanbase has long associated "Elbaf" with "fable."

It's important to note that this romanization wasn't from Oda's artwork, like the spellings on bounty posters, but is instead a graphic made during Jump's lettering phase. Such graphics have been inconsistent in the past. For example, names like "Shiliew" were later changed to "Shiryu," and "Reverie" was once rendered as "Lev Ely."

Furthermore, since "Elbaf" had no prior official romanization, it seems probable that the editorial staff simply deferred to their international partners' spelling.

In conclusion, we see room for doubt and believe it would be premature to change our spelling without further consideration.
