I just avoid any op discussion/content (including this thread) from the day spoilers come out, until I read the chapter. Most people itt are respectful and use the spoiler tag but I'd just rather not risk it. I remember when gear 5 was revealed the title of this thread got updated to "☀️ god" or something like a hour after the chapter came out and that spoiled the reveal for me since I hadn't read the chapter yet but was aware of the theory.

if you wanna speed up the pace and cut some things out thats still things people would have liked to have witnessed and may knock you for

The OP world is way too vast to get everything on screen

Think readers should understand that

these are big fights that get off screened not fair to act like its not relevant to things at present

other mangaka with vast worlds have managed it fine too, thats not a valid excuse

like the only reason is because he doesnt want to spend the time on it. which like i said is okay, but doesnt free anyone of critique

I was thinking the same thing earlier.

IDK how many times it's actually happened, but it feels like one of Oda's go to moves is to show the start of a fight between two major non-Strawhat characters, then cut away from it and not mention it again for months/ years. It's cool when used sparingly but it feels like it happens kind of often and is getting annoying.

Fights are honestly one of my least favorite parts of One Piece, so I don't really even care about missing them, I just wanna know what happened without having to wait a long time.

You have a solid critique but the “other mangaka with vast worlds” comparison isn’t a good one since one piece is in a world of its own and it’s not even close

Idk what that even means OP has great world building, but it's not the only manga that's been great at that

Berserk, Dorohedoro, Frieren, HxH, Magi, Alita, Nausicaä, Made In Abyss, Mushoku Tensei, list could go on, but those are all great series with terrific worlds

Tensei has a manga that follows the LN to some degree, and an anime which follows the LN. I don't know why you comparing them as being better all I said is that they also have great worlds, I'm not ranking them.

There's plenty that doesn't make sense if you wanna get into the details of the world, but you could say that with any series probably.

Far as off screened fights I think we all can agree we'd probably have liked to seen. Payback war, Aokiji v Akainu, Shanks vs BB, Kidd v Shanks, Mihawk v Shanks, Revolutionaries vs Admirals, BB crew vs Revolutionaries .

Woulda loved to have gotten ace vs blackbeard in full

One Piece got the most off screened fights of any battle shonen ever, and it's a vast manga so it's expected to some degree. I understand it like I said Oda wanna finish up, but still would've loved to have seen more of those fights drawn. Maybe we'll get some flashbacks, some bits and pieces, but we got no clue what's to come in the future so I can't speak on what will or won't get retouched on.
