I get what you mean but based on the information we already knew about Luffy he was always bound to be “special”. From his lineage, inheriting the Straw Hat, having all 3 haki’s, being trained by Rayleigh, etc.

Oh yeah sure it doesnt bother me that much. I am just annoyed by the shounen troupe. Atleast One Piece still got zoro and all the other strawhats being normal dudes. For a long time now I have kinda lost the connection to Luffy in a weird way. Nico Robin, Nami, Zoro, Sanji maybe even Chopper I can just relate more.

It’s a world of destiny and gods . One piece is basically an epic about luffy becoming king of the pirates . It was going to be some form of magicness to luffys character . I knew that as soon as fishman island arc ended . The whole new world has been basically centered around that . It would be kinda weird if luffy was fully average tbh . Especially with that middle name that has had magical implications since pre time skip in terms of destiny

I can see people being thrown off by this for obvious reasons in terms of how the plot clears it up and if it makes sense but i don’t understand the Crowd that is narratively surprised luffy is special . That’s been like the whole plot
