One Piece definitely didnt go in the direction I wanted

Every character I loved and grew up with has become shallow somehow. Law restored the vibes for Dressrosa other than that I just dont get the same energy from the crew. I admit nostalgia plays a huge part in all that. But watching the first few episodes and comparing it to now I feel like One Piece lost most of what I loved about it.

Nami stabbing her tattoo. Robin wanting to be saved. Zoro actualy being a human being with emotions. Usopp fighting against ruffy for the flying lamb. Noland the Liar backstory. Thats the moments for me.

Not only that, the greatest thing One Piece lost and something it was once the undisputed goat at is envoking the feeling of adventure. It’s just not there anymore, pre ts felt like a great adventure, it just doesn’t give off those vibes anymore. And they f***ing ruined the character designs. Pre ts OP was one of the best pieces of fiction ever made, because it was so unique, post ts is good but doesn’t even hold a candle to some of the other greats or even it’s previous self

I agree. I also think it´s quite sad how this story went more childish as the years went on. Sure the characters look more mature but the writing the humor lost it´s edge. It has become at least in my opinion a very basic battle shounen series without the wit and attention to detail that was in nearly every scene of the pre times skip arcs

People also fail to realize how many of the main cast moments we have already explored in one piece . Post time skip the world is bigger now and it’s clear we are converging into the finale of the show more than ever . It’s no longer about dedicating arcs purely to one of the main cast anymore (even though WCI still fills in that void but 🤷🏾‍♂️) or some random adventure along the way. This was inevitable since this story needed a conclusion eventually .Not like this is bad writing or something since current arcs show the writing is far from that but i understand the sentiment of people missing earlier moments

That being said Wano is still the best arc of the series taking all of that into account

East Blue isn’t an arc it’s a Saga for one. And it’s nostalgia heavy the only reason you’re saying this.

The only arc in the East Blue worth comparing to the others from the grand line is Arlong Park. Syrup Village is one of the worst arcs in OP, easily.
