Yep, Pro is gonna be the new "premium" when it releases. Im still enjoying my PS5 tho. Just with the Pro, im going all out to make sure I use its potential.

Kinda hope not, I really just want to walk into a Gamestop and just buy it release week. Might have to really pre- order tho

So we’ve basically been beta testing the PS5 for the last 4 years
This seems like the real next gen console. Also going to be interesting to see if Microsoft pivot their plans to make a mid gen refresh, the PS5 pro being the only console able to run GTA VI at 60fps would be a huge advantage for Sony.

Also I’m only in if they can somehow figure out how to bump the performance of every game, even last gen. There’s not enough exclusives coming out to justify dropping $500+ on something that’s only giving the newest games extra performance.

This sounds like a damn upgrade we’ve been waiting for

This PS5 / Xbox Series gen has been one of the biggest let downs in gaming

But this Pro model sounds exactly like what the PS5 should have already been

This gets me REALLY exciting for the future of gaming

I think MS has a different strategy then Sony, cause Sony having the balls to release a Pro model this time around, changes their whole business model. Sony wants the PS to be the Mac PC of gaming, vs just being a console, its about the ecosystem of Playstation.

I think MS wants to play it smart, and see how many casual gamers Sony runs off with this business strategy, to plan their next move. Cause dropping an advertising campaign saying "Pro can do it better" after people have spent $500+ on PS5 is definitely switching the marketplace this time around.(PS4 Pro felt different from this imo)

Casuals don't care about better specs, they just play COD and sports game primarly. They wouldn't even be able to tell you what advatanges the new specs provide.

A pro is for the hardcores, the pc folks, people that are into all that. PS been dominating for two straight generations people already invested money buying products from the store they're not leaving that ecosystem behind to hop into a new one. Phil Spencer has said that himself.

Thats why MS will most likely sit this one out, I think they'd rather see how the market reacts to another Pro releasing this gen and prepare a new console earlier then expected. When the Pro drops, there will be three tiers within the PS eco-system:PS4, PS5 and PS5 Pro.

That creates a whole new ideology within console gaming, and I think MS and Nintendo want to counteract this, I heard MS wants a Switch like handheld for the low model(weaker specs but good value, since it'll be a handheld)and a traditional console for the high end model(for the hardcore).

Depends on the specs, but I don't see the handheld doing well. Competing against the Switch and Steamdeck / other steamdeck competitors seems like an uphill battle for a company that already has loss one hardware sales race

Only way I see GTA VI running at 60fps is if it looks like V, which isn’t a bad thing at all. They can increase environmental density by having more interactive interiors, more complex NPC behaviours, more physics in play, etc.

They more then likely want the handheld to compete against Switch 2, which is a stretch forsure. I think MS is definitely coming through early next gen, heavy rebrand of Xbox with new logo, aesthetics and all, to try and counteract Sony.

That PS brand is strong as hell though, MS is gonna need some crazy exclusives to go with that fresh coat of paint.

The smartest investment MS can make for their next console is either bringing their sports division back to make officially licensed NFL, NBA games or getting EA to make an exclusive version of Madden just for their console, to make the PS5 version look old
