The gravity rush team was just one of Japan studio’s teams that had left and become a new studio back in 2020, they are now bokeh game studio

“Killing Japan studio” is a weird statement because all of their good teams had already broken off from Japanstudio and become other teams

Team ico (shadow of colossus, last guardian) left and became genDESIGN

Team asobi who made Astro’s playroom was spun off into its own seperate studio from Japan studio

Team gravity (gravity rush 1 and 2, siren) left and became bokeh game studio and are working on a new game slitterhead

If you read between the lines, Toyama and Ueda both decided to leave Sony due to producer influence on the games they were making or trying to make. Both are on record strongly hinting at this.

I’m definitely excited and anticipating their next projects along with the upcoming Astro Bot game, but having all of these smaller studios under the umbrella of a common philosophy with direct backing by Sony was different

Sony let that conglomerate die a slow death, there are so many upcoming designers making stunning and creative games they could have tapped into. But i understand their current business philosophy, there is still plenty of space for amazing games in that thankfully

Honestly, the Pro is alot of rumors right now, and if it does release, it won't be till fall. You can cop a slim right now, build your game library up, and sell it for decent price towards a Pro later. Or you can cop now, and already have it in your possession anyway, in case a Pro doesn't show up.

There's no way to really lose here
