remakes are dope don't get me wrong but have the heart and soul to drop new games that are creative. Break out of just the "cinematic third person" story telling games you are known for. Let studios make a variety of ideas. 70$ for these high production games to make with the art style of hyper realistic, mocapped, facial capture graphics dropping at a clip of every 5-7 years isnt sustainable for any company.

Point 3) Sony is done showing off games that are way far out. Their first party SP titles are being made and will release. Why does it matter if they are shown now or 1 year from now?

1) This s*** doesn't matter. We don't need execs to give us an act of respect. Only thing execs need to do is f*** off completely like the worms they are. This is internet brained thinking. 99% of consumers don't know what the f*** a Jim Ryan or Phil Spencer is and they don't care lol. They shouldn't even be on screen. Put an actual dev on there if anything.

2) This point is blatantly incorrect lol. It's barely worth getting into why this is incorrect since it's pretty obvious you have a set idea of how things were run that is not founded in reality.

3) You're showing your inability to understand the reports you're parroting. Sony stated they expected 60% of its investments to be placed on GaaS -- which, duh. Sony's first party investments have already materialized successfully. The "set up" phase for their GaaS is happening now -- which requires heightened investment in order to get off the ground. We barely know any of Sony's upcoming games as is. Need a source showing that Sony states 80% of their upcoming games are GaaS, by the way (as well as a definition for what "upcoming" means in this context).

3) idk why you responded to this point this way. Sony is largely done showing off and dating games that are far away. They don't "need" to show anything given their performance right now. We already know Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, SSM, Bluepoint, Housemarque, Asobi are making singleplayer games. We know xDev is working with Team Ninja on Rise of the Ronin and with Square Enix on 7 Rebirth (after just working on XVI with Square). Why does it matter when they show this s*** when we already know that they're coming? So nerds on Twitter can post hype images or fanboys can post list war bullshit? Who gives a f*** about this? Clearly it isn't hurting Sony's ability to move PS5s.

4) Gap was restricted due to COVID supply constraints. In Ampere's February report, Series X was at 18.5m and PS5 was at 30m at the end of 2022. Since then, latest numbers show Series X at 21mil~ (July) and PS5 at 42mil~ (August). For reference, the global marketshare split in the 360 era was nearly 1:1. It was 2:1 in the PS4/Xbox One gen, where Phil Spencer took over Xbox in 2014. Let's say we'll give him the benefit of the doubt since he "only" took the reigns in 2014 where the argument could be made that the generation was already over. What's the excuse for the current 2:1 split that is increasing every month? Where is this increased global marketshare? It was 2:1 last gen, Ampere (and basically every other a***ysis house) expects the gap to widen even moreso this gen (we're already seeing it). September UK YTD reports just came out two weeks ago. PS5 saw a 60% YTD jump while the Series consoles were down 23% YTD. The gap is widening the further we are removed from the ridiculous spending that occurred in the COVID era where technology in any developed economy was selling at an unprecedented rate. Overall, in the UK (Xbox's 2nd biggest market by far) is down 23%~ from last year. This is the type of drop you see in a console's last years, not entering its prime years. Again, the further we get from COVID spending the clearer the picture gets. Any gains made outside of the US by Microsoft were wiped away by continued losses in their stronghold market (United States).

Who the CEO doesn't matter in this context. A GaaS push isn't just a "Jim Ryan" initiative. This is a board push initiative. The next CEO, regardless of how "kawaii~ charismatic" they are is going to push the same thing.

why are you talking about market share when im talking about i want good f***ing decisions from a leader who greenlight's and releases quality games. ps5 on top right now with nothing to show for it until spiderman 2. winning the ps4 gen generated a culture where playstation becomes the "default" brand for gaming for most people. and thats okay and honestly impressive. just for me, the ps5 has brought nothing to it yet.

I talked about all of that, I just tldr'd one of the points you were objectively incorrect on since you said you weren't going to read anything. Jim Ryan isn't the one greenlighting games anyway. Sony has a ton of singleplayer games in development. Them showing it or not right now doesn't matter. They will get shown and release when they are ready to.
