I think I'm nearing the end too, just finished the Gen & Amame's ending. The end game somniums have been great so far except that Zero Escape one with Tearer f*** that one.

Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed. I knew that'd be the case when I wasn't even to Mizuki's half and I was just holding R2 to read through the dialogue faster. Wasn't a fan of the story very much either. I could come up with a laundry list of things I didn't like Though it seems like people online seem to really enjoy it, so maybe it's just me. Prob doesn't help that I'm reading this shortly after finishing Umineko and Higurashi lol.

I felt like most things in this were pretty easy to pick up on, so I'm still struggling to realize what the twist in this is that has people popping off over it. The twist in the first one with Date having Saito's body/Saito body-hopping was crazy to me. Didn't really find anything in this that had me shocked. Speaking of Date, he's so much of a better protagonist than Mizuki and Ryuki; it's insane.

I will say though, the gameplay improved so much over the first one. As I said before, big fan of the somnium designs despite them being pretty straightforward (and I guess less dream-like, but I can't be assed to deal with the stupid puzzles). I just looked up the answers for the Tearer one, f*** that lol.

But yeah, you're damn near finished. Curious to hear what you think of it when you're all done. There is an extra "path" after you've finished up the game. Was kinda cool.

Also, the scenes with Moma having the voice changer choker on f***ing sent me. S*** had me dead

Twist in the 1st game was such a classic with the build up , this game focuses on too much. Jin or Uru (lol) being Tearer is ass lmao, but I didn't finish yet so idk.

The whole Tearer (back)story just doesn't really grab me for some reason. The first game had my jaw dropped at the big twist/reveal, so I was really hoping to get something similar in this. Maybe the Mizuki/Masked Girl thing, but that wasn't too shocking to find out. Def knew the Masked Girl was Boss' kid. Seemed way too obvious (also kinda lazy writing too "oh nobody ever asked me if I had any kids") lol. (think you've gotten to this point already, but spoiler tagging just in case).

For the extra path, you'll prob just wanna look up how to unlock it. I think you'll find the postgame unlockable stuff pretty cool, especially if you've played the Zero Escape games.

Need Uchikoshi to make another Zero Escape since he keeps teasing them & is better at escape rooms, think A.I. needs more time for better writing

You ain't lying about the Pewter twist Def agree with AI needing more time in the oven. I really welcome the gameplay improvements, I just think the story needs to be a little bit better (that's the whole point of a VN too lol).

Also, you liked Raging Loop a lot, right? That might be the next murder mystery I read (obsessed with this genre ). Only potential issue I've seen is that the ending isn't too great, so I wanted to get your input on it.

Don't remember Raging Loop's whole story that much lol, but I remember really liking the story until the rushed/non-sense ending. Enjoyed the atmosphere and characters alot, very deep lore. The game does a good job of keeping you guessing. The side stories were pretty interesting too. Curious to see what you think about it after Umineko

I kinda want to reread it after reading Morgana & others since to see if I still feel the same lol. Also another good underrated VN was Fatal Twelve, thought that was pretty nice.
