@Nute started nirvana initiative. few hours in and i'm not super impressed with it. kinda feels like more of the same, which i guess isn't a bad thing, but i'm not getting hooked for some reason

i did finish higurashi though, and it was fantastic

I def understand that, the beginning just throws you into the game with zero build up so players are confused. I'm like 30 hours in rn

The somniums/psyncs are much better to me in this game, but a bit easier. 1st game so far had a better story and felt more like a crime thriller. While the 2nd game has more of a Zero Escape like feel but feels all over the place.

Psyncing with someone in the 1st felt like it actually had a purpose. I feel like in this one they do it just because the person doesn't want to tell the protagonist something.

They heard all s***jokes complaints from the 1st game and tripled them in this one

Combat sections are better in the 2nd as well

Wasn't sure if I was alone in thinking you're just thrown into the story Also not sure if it's because I played the first one and answered the question at the beginning for the "spoiler mode" or whatever you wanna call it. But yeah, I feel like I got tossed into an ongoing story lol.

The few psyncs I have done are pretty solid. Liking them a lot more than the first game since these seem a bit more straightforward and not something like finding a bullet in a random oil drum to solve a puzzle or some s***

As good as Higurashi was, Umineko is so much better. I don't think anything is gonna top that or Fata Morgana. I thought the slice of life stuff was a bit much at the beginning of the game, but as I got more into it, it's definitely my favorite part. Love those characters so much

Damn, Umineko is sounding crazy

I watched walkthroughs for the like, last 4 of them because I was not trying to figure that random bs out myself I just put this one on story mode, so I have more than enough time to walk around and figure out stuff on my own, but it definitely seems better than the first game.

Halfway through at 30 hours? My friend sped through the first one. Think he finished it at like 14 hours or something lol.

The most recent psync I did was Tokiko's with Ryuki, which I think is either the 3rd or 4th. I'm going through kinda quickly. Still checking out every piece stuff during the investigations for the dialogue though.

And yeah man, it really is. Long ass read, but man, more than worth it Going to be comparing every story to it now

Tokiko's somnium was one of my favorites minus the swimming controls. One of my favorite new characters as well

love that game, you have a portable cassette and can play whatever songs you want, so you can soundtrack your own missions basically lol. Like the fallout radio but with more flexibility because it’s up to you. Soundtrack slaps too
