if you haven't heart sunny day real estate, definitely look into them. all of their albums are great but the rising tide (their newest, 2000) might be closest to what you're used to.

on the opposite end of the spectrum, antioch arrow's gems of masochism is kind of psychedelic and art punky.

also random and might not be appealing to you at all, but i remember reading that i hate sex's first ep circle thinking was inspired by nirvana's tourettes. i hate s***is a screamo band so idk how but circle thinking is amazing.

Paramore is a part of the original 2000s scene tbh, All We Know Is Falling is an alternative/emo album. Maybe they moved away from that sound, but that album is rooted in phxc. Hayley is from that subculture as well.

I feel you g, it's not for everyone. I find some of the culture and fandom cringey as well, I'm mostly here for the music

Also, it's documented that unfortunately some band members are absolute creeps towards little girls and take advantage of their fanbase since their music is very relatable and opening in their storytelling. However, in social media era it helps that these creeps are usually outed almost instantly instead of waiting years after the incident happened like with Jank or Mom Jeans.
