I've been running with achilles tendonitis since December. I've tried everything to get it to go away and nothing has worked. Even took like a 3 week break in Jan. I just said f*** it finally and just going back to my normal routine and just running through it.
Finally broke down and went to a primary care doctor to get a referral to get PT for my Tendentious. After the first day of PT. I could hardly walk. Today was the first day I could actually run.
Hopefully after a few sessions I’ll get back to where I can run more consistently again.

Well, this was a f***ing waste of time.
i went kinda crazy during interval training today and i think i breathed in too much oxygen because this entire day i feel like a trillion bucks
dam u still hurtin?
It’s just that PT group I went to felt useless. I expected more from it. Out of the 4 sessions I went to they changed the person I worked with 3 times. Nobody was marking anything down so I was like how tf are you tracking progress if you’re just passing me around? The thing that really made it felt weird was the first time I was there they were really pushing me to do dry needling. I told them no, after I go through the first round of sessions, if it’s still bothering me, I’ll try it out. When they started switching me around it just felt like they didn’t gaf. They just had me do some basic stretches and sent me home. Like I understand that’s pretty much what PT is, but I could have done all that s*** at the house without missing work. At first they made it sound like they were going to have me running, checking my form, and doing some other things, but that wasn’t the case.
I’ll just have to incorporate what they gave me as far as stretching and probably alternate days between running and using a stationary bike. Instead of running everyday.
Going to the running shoe store tomorrow to get a new pair of shoes.
Anyone got some recs on a good shoe brand?

I went with Asics Nimbus 27 from the running store. I wanted to get some Mizuno's, but they didn't feel great compared to the Nimbus.
But after buying it, I'm seeing reviews on Reddit of people saying they're not that great for stability after a couple hundred miles. I haven't worn them outside yet, but contemplating if I should return them.
I walk/run with my heel and arch a lot, so need to find a shoe like that if I go with something else

had my charity run today. Managed to get around 28 mins. Got tired 3/4 in and took a 1 min break
Proud of myself. Goal is to try and get around 24-25 mins by end of the year.

I tried those at the running store. They seem to be good, but I personally like the feeling I got from the Asics.
If you got it from a running store, you might be able to test it out for some time and if you don't like, you could exchange it for another pair

How do you guys deal with joint pain? Im a couple months in to running - usually just do a few stretches before my run and the first km I typically feel some joint pain at my knees and feet, but after a while it goes away and is manageable. But now I'm starting to feel some knee pain the day after when resting, should I just be stretching more or see a PT or something

In what kind of surface are u running and which shoes are you wearing? If youre running daily try not to overdo it by trying to keep the same pace or improve that timewise
