Yea, it’s f***ing tedious but people swear by it. I think it’s harder to do than to just go balls out and haul ass.
You really need a watch that can measure your heartbeat per minute. An Apple Watch can if you got it. Then you just stick to that zone the entire time. It helps build your aerobic base with the lowest physiological cost, so when you do workout at higher intensities, you are using less energy. It also prevents injury which allows you to workout more and get more miles in throughout your week.
I’m sure there’s more articles that go in greater detail than I can.
Thanks for the insight
Yeah I agree with you 100%, I find it difficult to hover around the zone 2 area. I will try it though.
After 2 months of training, I completed my first half marathon this past weekend. I felt good throughout and probably could've pushed myself more but was having stomach issues and didn't want to push it lol
Just did a 20 minute run at 5MPH last night and I gotta say that left me feeling a literal "different" type of tired like I legit wanted to just sit in my car seat and doze off. And I think running that late right before bed at 1AM made me have funny dreams, can anyone relate?
back on my running s***!!
currently stuck in 10-11 minute mile pace but just gonna work on distance and stamina right now
need some new shoes
Finished my first quarter marathon (12k) after a six-month recovery period. It feels good although running 12ks used to feel like nothing but now I have to actually train for it

I've been running with achilles tendonitis since December. I've tried everything to get it to go away and nothing has worked. Even took like a 3 week break in Jan. I just said f*** it finally and just going back to my normal routine and just running through it.

dam bro hope youre good. last September I started getting insane shin splints that were too painful so I stopped running and went to a doctor. they got me orthotics that are helping a bit, but my shins are still hurting for the first few kilometers. hope it gets better after some time, im only a few months into wearing these

When I first started running I got shin splints pretty bad and I just started icing them down after my runs. They eventually went away. Been looking into getting KT tape for my tendonitis and also bought one of those hypervolt massage guns off of ebay.

looked into zone 2 after your post lmao. I tried it a couple of times and one time it was very successful and I enjoyed it and another time I just could keep up the slow pace lol

lol yeah it’s weird the first couple times I had to walk at times to get back down from 3 to 2, but the more I’ve done it the easier it’s been to stay in 2
who's still running? i'm back on my 5k movements
I'm getting back into it slowly, been in a weed fog like all year and it feels real good to be working out clear headed again. That acid burn in my lungs after just one mile is tough but it hurts good haha
