Holy s*** that’s crazy
How many marathons have you ran?
hate running but love run w the wind
highly recommend if you like running and anime
Skip to 11:20 I do something pretty quick and simple like this guy’s routine
Thanks gonna try this today 🙌
been having these weird back spasms when i run long distances since i was like 16. Really affected my exercise routines smh
Damn did you get medical attention? I would hate to be prevented from running due to a health issue. I was really scared of catching covid cuz it could give you long term respiratory issues. Got my first moderna shot last week and no covid yet.

only 1. marathons aren't fun for me i prefer 5k/10k/half marathon
Ready to run after work
Been building my stamina back up, wanna see if I can run 15 minutes straight on the treadmill again
When I run in the mornings, I definitely do it more consistently, but I need a separation of work/life since I work from home and I’ve been hitting it after work for a month. It’s inconsistent though cuz s*** comes up or I’m tired, etc.
I could do 2 runs a day but I think that would be crazy

What don’t you like about them? I haven’t ran one but it’s my goal

they're just not appealing to me. marathons aren't the end all be all of races/running goals, especially when you're running competitively there's more distances out there.
for the people who go on super long runs: do you carry water with you?

Ultramarathons?
Also wydm there’s more to it. What else is there?

depends on the weather
during summer in florida i always stop on runs to get water (at water fountain in a park or something) if I'm going to be out for longer than an hour
in the fall/winter i've done 20 mile runs without stopping at all, just depends on what your body can handle. better to be safe than sorry and see what you can tolerate then work around that

the end goal of running is whatever you want it to be. you don't have to keep going up in distance indefinitely.
a fast 5K is as impressive as a fast marathon is as impressive as a fast 10K is as impressive as a fast mile, etc etc...
Most local running scenes/race series will typically have 5K races only, maybe some sprinklings of 10Ks, 15Ks, 3Ks..
Marathon races are more rare than you think compared to these other distances people race daily

how long did it take you to become a really good runner? were you always athletic/a naturally good runner when you were a kid etc.?

Ah okay, yeah I was coming in with the wrong understanding
Have you ever been ranked or qualified for stuff? What’s your goal with running rn?

no my first 5K was my freshman year of high school and it was like 32 minutes, i've been running for like 8 or 9 years. i didn't take my training super seriously until 2 years ago, then I took a year off from burnout and I'm getting back in shape now
some people are naturally gifted, some people just need to put in the work. it's easier to get started when you're younger ofc

no in the grand scheme of things even at my fastest last year with those race times, I'd be the equivalent of like a lower/mid-level college runner. my goals were just based around getting faster times
i took a year or so off during covid and it's biting me in the ass so my goal now is to just get back into (relative to my prior fitness) shape

Oh I see, wow running is super competitive
Nice, good luck fam
Used to go running every second morning but now I have classes in the morning and my schedule been f***ed up
Hoping to start running in the afternoons/early evenings now. I'd just head to the track and jog about 3500-6000 steps with some sprints in between, just doing it for fitness reasons
Any recommendations for running shoes? I've heard good things about Hoka Arahi. Have a pair of Ultraboost 20s but I like them too much to run in

go to a running store and actually try on the shoes there and see what works for you. they should let you run around the inside or outside of the store or even on a treadmill if they have one inside
nike pegasus is pretty close to being the toyota corolla of running shoes
also always size up either a half or full size when you're buying running shoes because your feet expand while doin that s***
Post-work run
listened to Drake playlist
you runnin in metrotown or what
great pace though
